Since he lost the 2000 presidential election, it seemed as if no day was complete without some Al Gore rant about global warming or national security or civil rights or government corruption or other issues he can use to hammer his own country.

His speeches are so filled with rage and vitriol that one almost feels like getting down on one’s knees and thanking Almighty God that this man never got into the Oval Office. Gore obviously believes that he’s staked out the moral high-ground as his own. Well, perhaps someone should remind Al Gore of a sad time in his past when he served as Vice President of the United States. You can bet the farm, the mainstream media won’t remind him.

In mid-1996, President Clinton created the White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security and assigned it three specific mandates: to look at the changing security threat, and how the US could address it; to examine changes in the aviation industry, and how government should adapt its regulation of it; to look at the technological changes coming to air traffic control, and what should be done to take best advantage of them.

In the wake of concerns over the crash of Trans World Airlines Flight 800, President Clinton asked the commission to focus its attention first on the issue of security. He asked for an initial report on aviation security in 45 days, including an action plan to deploy new high technology machines to detect the most sophisticated explosives.

From its inception, the commission took a hands-on approach to its work. President Clinton announced the formation of the commission on July 25, 1996 and a few days later, Vice President Al Gore, commission chairman, led a site visit to Dulles International Airport where he and other commissioners saw airport and airline operations firsthand, and discussed issues with front line workers. This was the first of dozens of such visits. Over the next six months, the commission visited facilities throughout the United States and in various locations abroad.

The news story published by Newsweek newsmagazine titled “Why America Overreacted to 9-11″ created much controversy. However, a more truthful — and educational — story would address the progressives’ under reaction to a decade filled with terrorist attacks during the Clinton Administration.

As President Barack Obama travels throughout the world denigrating the U.S. actions in the midst of a war, no one in the news media feels it’s important to point out — to emphasize — that during the Bush Administration there was one terrorist attack against the United States and its interests overseas in five years. How many terrorist attacks were there during the administration of progressive icon Bill Clinton?
(I know more people died during the 9-11 attacks and it was by far the largest attack suffered by the US, but Al-Qaeda terrorists didn’t start their war on the US on January 20, 2001. In fact, one can make the argument that the Clinton Administration’s record on fighting terrorists emboldened Al-Qaeda.)

But let’s give credit where credit is due: Clinton and his people do talk a great war on terrorism. Let’s examine Clinton’s record of combating terrorists:

In 1993, President Clinton failed to prevent a bombing at New York City’s World Trade Center, and the terrorists succeeded in their WTC attack, killing six and wounding over 100 New Yorkers. In fact, Clinton never even visited the bomb site. And, except for a few arrests, trials and convictions, according to the late John O’Neill, the FBI’s top counterterrorism maven, the Clinton Administration refused to follow-up and go after Al-Qaeda.

He also failed to fiercely battle a faction of Al-Qaeda in Somalia right after the so-called Black Hawk Down incident. Clinton hadn’t sent in troops with tanks, Bradley armored vehicles and high-tech weapons. He sent them in with Hummers, rifles, grenades and launchers, and other small arms and conventional weapons. And then he ordered a retreat.

Then there was Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia in 1997, when terrorists succeeded in killing 19 and wounding hundreds American military troops and civilians. There was never any follow-up by Clinton.

In 1998, there were simultaneous attacks on two of our embassies. And then in 1999, the terrorists succeeded in their attack on the US Navy’s USS Cole in 1999. Seventeen sailors were killed and scores were wounded. But still Clinton took no action in either attack.

Even Clinton’s claim of thwarting the Millennium terrorist attack on LAX airport is a lie. Clinton didn’t apprehend that Islamofascist on his way to bomb Los Angeles International Airport. It was achieved by an alert female US Customs agent. Clinton did take credit for it, but the mainstream news media knew that the hardworking Customs agent never received any terrorism alerts and took it upon herself to investigate a suspicious looking character coming across the US-Canadian border.

Yet, our MSM decided to allow Clinton and his flunkies to take credit and the Customs agent has been relegated to relative anonymity. The Customs agent who saved countless lives and property remains unknown in history, but William Jefferson Clinton is being allowed to rewrite history. The only positive thing is that the Clintonistas didn’t try to discipline that brave Customs agent for her use of racial profiling.

Even Clinton’s own FBI director, Louis Freeh, says the former president let down the American people and the families of victims of the Khobar Towers terror attack in Saudi Arabia. After promising to bring to justice those responsible for the bombing at Khobar Towers — a bombing that killed 19 and injured hundreds — Freeh says Clinton refused to personally ask Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah to allow the FBI to question bombing suspects the kingdom had in custody.

Freeh writes in his book, “Bill Clinton raised the subject only to tell the crown prince that he understood the Saudis’ reluctance to cooperate and then he hit Abdullah up for a contribution to the Clinton Presidential Library.” Says Freeh, “That’s a fact that I am reporting.”

Freeh says he was determined to stay on as FBI director until President Clinton left office so that Clinton could not appoint his successor.

“I was concerned about who he would put in there as FBI director because [Clinton] had expressed antipathy for the FBI, for the director. [So] I was going to stay there and make sure he couldn’t replace me,” Freeh told Mike Wallace of CBS’ 60 Minutes.

Here’s what action the Clinton Administration took to fight terrorism: his Justice Department minions increased the height of the “wall” prohibiting the FBI and the CIA from sharing information. What moron did that? Jamie Gorelick. The 9-11 Commission Jamie Gorelick. And what did she say when questioned by other panel members? She never testified before the 9-11 panel. It was like having a convict sit on the board of his own parole hearing.

During the last two years of a virtual jobs depression, these 50 lawmakers led Congress in allowing the addition of another 75,000 permanent working-age immigrants every month and in allowing about 7 million illegal foreign workers to keep their jobs in construction, service, manufacturing and transportation, according to NumbersUSA, a national public-interest group.

Recent government data show that 22 million U.S. workers who want a job can’t find one. But these 50 members of Congress deserted those Americans in favor of increasing the number of foreign workers competing with them in the hiring line.

“NumbersUSA is performing a true service for the American people. The group provides a list to help voters decide which politicians are honest and which ones are duplicitous power-grabbers who are betraying their own constituents,” said political strategist Mike Baker.

The non-partisan NumbersUSA rates every member on every committee and floor vote and every bill co-sponsorship that would either increase or reduce the foreign workers (legal and illegal) in the country. Those in Congress who do the most to protect American workers in terms of immigration policies receive an A+, while those doing the least receive an F-minus.

All 50 "Deserters" on this list:
-- received grades of F-minus and 0%, failing to take a single action to
      reduce competition for jobless Americans.
-- are asking voters to re-elect them to Congress this November
-- are in the Senate or in the House where they are leaders with special
opportunity to influence policy toward jobless Americans because they
either are congressional chairmen, leaders of their Party or on the
Judiciary Committee with direct jurisdiction over immigration.

INTERPOL’s Washington, DC Director Timothy A. Williams announced a multi-international effort to locate and arrest criminal suspects believed to be in hiding in the United States and throughout Western Hemisphere countries. The International Criminal Police Organization, or INTERPOL, was originally created in 1923 to ensure and promote the widest possible mutual assistance between all criminal police authorities within the limits of the laws existing in the different countries and in the spirit of the ‘Universal Declaration of Human Rights.’

INTERPOL collects, stores, analyzes and exchanges information about suspected individuals and groups and their activities. The organization also co-ordinates the circulation of alerts and warnings on terrorists, dangerous criminals and weapons threats to police in member countries. A chief initiative in the area of terrorism is the Fusion Task Force, which was created in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States.

According to Williams, INTERPOL Washington is partnering with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ICE/ERO) for this initiative.

The initiative, called “Operation Far Away,” is an intelligence-driven operation designed to target, locate and arrest criminal aliens believed to be in hiding in the United States and in other Western Hemisphere countries.

Following the steps of the nation’s Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner,  and a powerful New York congressman, Charles Rangel, a two-term state treasurer who portrays himself as a vigilant custodian of public money has failed to pay taxes over the past decade, according to a report from a group that investigates public corruption.

Massachusetts Treasurer Timothy Cahill, a gubernatorial candidate, owes the state about $15,000 in taxes for income his campaign committee account has earned from investments in the last ten years. Like the other high-profile public servants who failed miserably to fulfill their civic duty, Cahill only agreed to right the wrong after the media exposed the crime, according to a report from Judicial Watch, a Washington-based public-interest group.

Cahill had raised millions of dollars for his political campaigns over the years, much of it from sources that had business with his agency, and a local newspaper discovered that there was no record of checks to the state to cover taxes.

A former Democrat who is running for governor as an independent, Cahill quickly acknowledged the “lapse” and vowed to pay the decades worth of taxes.

“He’s hardly the only public servant to blow off taxes. President Obama’s Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner, got busted during confirmation hearings for failing to pay $34,000 in federal taxes on his lucrative salary at the International Monetary Fund. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) graciously waived the hefty penalties when Geithner was forced to pay the debt before getting confirmed,” said Judicial Watch officials in a press statement.

The group points to another high-profile tax evader, ethically challenged Harlem Congressman Charles Rangel. The staunch liberal was actually the chairman of the House committee (Ways and Means) that writes the tax policy for the entire nation when he blew off the IRS. For two decades

Rangel, who is embroiled in a major ethics scandal, “forgot” to pay taxes on rental income from a Caribbean villa. In fact, it was the Judicial Watch officials who uncovered additional alleged unethical or criminal behavior by Rangel in his dealings with a foreign firm.

“Tax delinquency is so rampant among federal workers — including those at key presidential cabinet agencies — that Congress introduced legislation last year to fire derelict employees and ban the hiring of other scofflaws. Hundreds of thousands of federal employees and retirees owe Uncle Sam  billions of dollar in taxes and the figure increases annually, according to the IRS, which revealed that in 2008 alone 276,300 federal workers stiffed the government out of $3.04 billion in taxes,” stated Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton.

Law enforcement and corrections officers face deadly attacks by terrorists even when these Jihadists are incarcerated.

A federal judge re-sentenced Mahmoud Mamduh Salim yesterday in Manhattan federal court to life in prison for his brutal assault on Corrections Officer Louis Pepe of the Metropolitan Correctional Center (“MCC”) on November 1, 2000.

Salim attacked Officer Pepe while incarcerated in the MCC awaiting trial in the case of United States v. Bin Laden, (the “Embassy Bombings Case”). The Indictment in the Embassy Bombings Case alleged, among other things, that Salim participated in a global conspiracy to kill Americans in connection with the operations of al Qaeda, and specifically charged that Salim was a trusted aide to Osama bin Laden. The sentence was imposed today by U.S. District Judge Deborah Batts.

Salim launched his carefully prepared assault on Officer Pepe with the assistance of his cell mate at the time (and his co-defendant in the Embassy Bombings Case) KHALFAN KHAMIS MOHAMMED. Prior to the attack, Salim made knives out of a comb and hairbrush that he ordered from the MCC commissary, filled honey-bear bottles with hot sauce, and made ropes out of cloth and saran wrap.

On the day of the assault, Salim lured Officer Pepe into his cell, and Salim and Mohammed then attacked the corrections officer. Salim knocked Officer Pepe down and sprayed hot sauce into his eyes in an attempt to blind him. When Officer Pepe continued to resist the assault, Salim took one of the knives that he had made and shoved it into Officer Pepe’s left eye. This brutal assault caused horrific injuries to Officer Pepe, including blindness in one eye and partial blindness in the other, and resulted in his confinement in a wheelchair, difficulty in speaking, and requiring nearly constant home health assistance.

Moreover, Salim’s attack on Officer Pepe was the first step of a larger plan to commit other violent criminal acts. Judge Batts found that Salim had initially planned to take hostages in an effort to free himself and his co-defendants in the Embassy Bombings Case, but then abandoned that plan.

Are Reparations Owed to the American People?

By Roger Fredinburg

I have pondered for years how it is possible that elected officials and the hirelings in government, at all levels, are able to avoid lawsuits and criminal charges.

If any private group or company in America achieved the same lackluster results and continued the same failed policies as are made by the government, candidates, agency heads, bureaucrats and office holders make, they would be sued out of existence and likely go to prison.

It is ironic that government and political candidates are not lawfully bound to the truth.

Shouldn’t they be held accountable to us to for all their big Promises?

And shouldn’t there be consequences for chronic failure to deliver?

I mean anybody can make a mistake or two, but to make one after the other, endlessly,  to the point that their boondoggles crash the country, and maybe the world economy, I think at some point enough is enough.

If we aren’t at that point now, where we have had all we can stand, then when will we be?

The law actually allows immunity for government do-gooders under various Supreme Court decisions.

Not until 1946, however, did Congress address the issue of liability for torts committed by the government’s agencies, officers, or employees. Until 1946 civil servants could be individually liable for torts, but they were protected by sovereign immunity from liability for “tortuous” acts committed while carrying out their official duties. But the courts were not always consistent in making that distinction.

I think it is a grave mistake, letting government bureaucrats and most elected leaders of America abdicate the responsibility of standing by their policies, decisions and in recent decades, their recklessness that has finally led us to near global ruin.

It seems only prudent that Americans should join together in a class action lawsuit that calls back all living elected officials and decision making bureaucrats to explain the condition of America, and make them cough up their retirements and personal wealth to help pay back the people for the horrible and destructive decisions they have made and passed into law.

Public education – Failure beyond compare

Government hand-outs – Out of control by any standard

Government pay and benefits – Criminal at best

(Better pay, better medical, retirements 5 to10x the $ of the private sector}

Foreign Policy – Egregious at best

The courts, the criminal and civil justice system is nothing but a made for hire cash machine for government agencies, bureaucracies and lawyers.

Our schools, once the best in the world are turning out multitudes of ignoramuses that most of the 3rd world can out think and outperform.

Social engineering that leads us to adopt ridiculous laws and policies that defy nature, God and common sense.

Our military has been dumbed down by feel-good folks who think equality for women means putting them in harms way.

One sad result of weakening the military’s basic training requirements is that young men and now, sadly, young women, are not being rooted out in boot camp because they aren’t being pushed to the breaking point.

One primary function of Boot Camp is to “test” your metal so when you are deployed and see military action, you won’t come home a psychological basket case.

Now we have huge and disproportionate numbers of military service people returning with serious mental challenges and PTSD etc.

The political leaders and complicit morons in government and the military that made those decisions, should be forced to personally pay into a fund to help resolve the medical issues.

Yes, they should be stripped of all personal wealth, it was ill-gotten gain anyway.

Our American values and our ethics have been radically transmogrified in regard to government execution of policy.

People have stood by, hoping for a Knight in shining armor to rescue the land… but the distant sound of thundering hooves is not registering on the decibel meter of freedom.

We are so far in debt that modern math can’t calculate the long range cost.

If interest rates go up just 3% from zero, the national debt will require another trillion dollars a year just to pay interest.

Anyone think the interest on short term debt may go up eventually… maybe well beyond 3 percent?

Americans should demand reparations and demand they be paid from the coffers of the power grabbing twisted and morally bereft gate-keepers.

Those currently in power should pay, and those from past government service who are personally responsible for our demise.

We need a class action lawsuit and the will to force the thieves that brought this great nation down into a repayment plan that leaves them and their progeny back at the starting line with the rest of us.

They are obviously guilty of fraud, abuse of power, misuse of public money, professional negligence, breach of contract and many other crimes.

They violated their Oaths of office, most of them, and now they need to pay.

As the Border issue goes, I think Mr. Obama and several past Presidents can be held on charges of dereliction of duty, court marshaled and then civilly sued by the millions directly damaged by their negligence.

Hello… Is anybody home?

______________________________________________________________________

Dereliction of duty is:

A specific offense in military law. It includes various elements centered on the avoidance of any duty which may be properly expected.

In the U.S. Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), dereliction of duty is addressed within the regulations governing the failure to obey an order or regulation. It means that one willfully, through negligence or culpable inefficiency, fails to perform one’s expected duties. Ineptitude is a defense against the charge. The maximum penalty in the U.S. is a bad-conduct discharge, forfeiture of pay and six months confinement. Acts which are derelict may be charged under more specific offenses such as missing movement, noncompliance with procedural rules, misbehavior, malingering, self-injury with intent to avoid service, or straggling.

Civilian dereliction is usually classed in common law as criminal or civil negligence, recklessness or malpractice.

Professional negligence is:

A subset of the general rules on negligence to cover the situation in which the defendant has represented him or herself as having more than average skills and abilities. The usual rules rely on establishing that a duty of care is owed by the defendant to the claimant, and that the defendant is in breach of that duty. The standard test of breach is whether the defendant has matched the abilities of a reasonable person. But, by virtue of the services they offer and supply, professional people hold themselves out as having more than average abilities. This specialized set of rules determines the standards against which to measure the legal quality of the services actually delivered by those who claim to be among the best in their fields of expertise.

Breach of contract is:

A legal cause of action in which a binding agreement or bargained-for exchange is not honored by one or more of the parties to the contract by non-performance or interference with the other party’s performance. If the party does not fulfill his contractual promise, or has given information to the other party that he will not perform his duty as mentioned in the contract or if by his action and conduct he seems to be unable to perform the contract, he is said to breach the contract.

Anticipatory breach

A breach by anticipatory repudiation (or simply anticipatory breach) is an unequivocal indication that the party will not perform when performance is due, or a situation in which future non-performance is inevitable. An anticipatory breach gives the non-breaching party the option to treat such a breach as immediate, and, if repudiatory, to terminate the contract and sue for damages (without waiting for the breach to actually take place).

Which one of these do you think fits the bill?

“I won’t back down.  I won’t surrender to politicians, thugs or drug dealers!” – Sheriff Joe Arpaio

President Barack Obama’s Justice Department initiated a lawsuit against Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio – frequently called “America’s Sheriff” by his admirers – on Thursday. Justice Department officials claim he failed to cooperate in its discrimination investigation against him and other Arizona officials.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, which also covers the city of Phoenix, is also listed in the suit as a co-defendant.

Many law enforcement officials recognize this lawsuit as part of what they term the “Obama political machine in action.” They claim that the U.S. government is targeting any and all individuals involved in enforcement of the state’s new immigration enforcement law.

“The actions of the sheriff’s office are unprecedented. It is unfortunate that the department was forced to resort to litigation to gain access to public documents and facilities,” Thomas E. Perez, assistant attorney general for the civil rights division, said in a DoJ press release.

A man who was allegedly angry with the Discovery Channel’s environmental lineup, and entered the company’s national headquarters outside Washington, DC and took several people hostage at gunpoint, was negatively influenced by Al Gore’s film “An In Convenient Truth.”

The suspect — identified as James Lee — also had a “suicide vest” with explosives strapped to his body. A police tactical unit, however, was able to rescue the hostages and killed the enraged hostage-taker.The three hostages — two Discovery Channel employees and a security officer — escaped unharmed after a four-hour hostage incident Wednesday. Following several hours negotiating with the gunman, SWAT officers moved in when Lee was observed pulling out a handgun and pointing it at a hostage on a CCTV monitor, according to Montgomery County Police Chief Thomas Manger. SWAT officers shot and killed the suspect and rescued the hostages unharmed.

This hostage situation was not the first time Lee had targeted Discovery’s headquarters. In 2008, he was charged with disorderly conduct for staging a “Save the Planet Protest.” In court and online, he had demanded an end to Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel children’s shows.  He believed the network should air “programs encouraging human sterilization and infertility.”

“Humans are the most destructive, filthy, pollutive creatures around and are wrecking what’s left of the planet with their false morals and breeding cultures,” Lee wrote on his Internet blog.

Yesterday, Lee went on his hostage-taking rampage at 1 PM (eastern) and by 5 PM (eastern) a police tactical unit reportedly shot and killed the suspect and freed his hostages.

According to a police source, Lee was influenced by radical environmentalist and author Daniel Allen and former Vice President Al Gore.

According to Fox News, Lee wrote on his blog: “All programs on Discovery Health-TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants and the false heroics behind those actions. In those programs’ places, programs encouraging human sterilization and infertility must be pushed. All former pro-birth programs must now push in the direction of stopping human birth, not encouraging it.”

“It’s interesting that most of the news coverage omits the influence of Al Gore on this gunman. Had he been affiliated with the Tea Party movement or was influenced by Sarah Palin, that tidbit would have resulted in a feeding frenzy. But here’s a madman with a gun and explosives who was influenced by Al Gore and the environmental movement, and the silence is deafening,” said former police detective Sid Franes.

HOSTAGE AND BARRICADE SITUATION RESPONSE

In the US, negotiators work closely with tactical teams, like SWAT and Hostage Rescue, in barricade situations. Unlike what you might see on TV, one group doesn’t trump the other; they work on a continuum. It is termed a “parallel application of force.”

In fact, most barricades and hostage situations in the US are resolved through negotiations or a combination of negotiation and tactical force. Less than one in five incidents are resolved strictly through tactical means. The unit’s Latin motto is “Pax per Conloquium,” which means “resolution through dialogue.”

The FBI maintains the only database on barricade situations. The Hostage Barricade Database System contains information on about 5,000 incidents, most from state and local jurisdictions. The database is a service for law enforcement to learn from other incidents — how they were resolved, weapons used, how long they incidents lasted, and how communications were handled.

FBI agents, meanwhile, have to pass a rigorous two-week National Crisis Negotiation Course, held a few times a year at the FBI Academy in Virginia, to become negotiators. The course puts students in real-life scenarios and tests their mettle, because there are no second chances when called to help.

While launching a media campaign to show Americans they are intensifying immigration enforcement and border security, the Obama Administration continues on the road to de facto amnesty for illegal aliens.

In what it termed a reprehensible move for an agency charged with protecting the nation, a non-partisan legal group is reporting that the Department of Homeland Security has released nearly 500 illegal aliens — who remain fugitives — from terrorist-sponsoring countries and others known to present a danger to the U.S.

A conservative news web site, CNS.com, had obtained government records under the Freedom of Information Act. The records show that, the Department of Homeland Security caught and released 481 illegal aliens from nations designated by the State Department as sponsors of terrorism or “countries of interest.”

According to legal eagles at Judicial Watch, these dangerous illegal aliens remain fugitives whose whereabouts are unknown, as proven by Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s own database accessed by the news group. All came from four nations that sponsor terrorism — Iran, Syria, Sudan and Cuba — or countries determined by the U.S. government to present a threat. Those include Afghanistan, Algeria, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Iraq, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia and Yemen.

On Fox News Channel’s top-rated Fox & Friends, host Gretchen Carlson would not allow the White House press secretary to do what his ilk to do best: revise history.

Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs, during what he obviously believed was  a Tuesday morning spin session, attempted to evade and avoid direct questions about President Barack Obama’s and Vice President Joe Biden attempting to take political credit for the current “highly stable” situation in Iraq that is allowing tens of thousands of American warriors to return home.

Most Americans welcomed the announcement that US-led combat operations in Iraq were over, and that the last combat unit was to be sent home. Last night, when President Obama addressed the nation via live television,  he obviously counted on the short memories of the American people in his attempt to garner credit.

At the same time, officials at the public-interest group Move America Forward congratulated these brave troops and greeted them as heroes. They also also called on the Obama Administration to do the right thing, and give credit where it is due.

“He [Obama] should thank George W. Bush for enabling victory in Iraq, in addition to the troops who and won the war, despite Obama’s opposition to the successful war strategy,” stated a press release from the group.

“In 2007, the War on Terror was raging worse than ever in Iraq, the outlook for the American public was grim, and too many of our precious troops were hurt or being killed in battle.  Politicians on the left began piling on their attacks on both President Bush and the mission, putting their own political gain ahead of the lives of our troops,” their statement said.

In his re-election campaign, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is hoping Nevada voters forget that he personally surrendered to the terrorists and gave a huge morale boost and symbolic victory to the enemy when he said, “I believe this war is lost. The surge is not accomplishing anything.”

Then-Senator Barack Obama himself predicted that the surge would not help in Iraq.  “In fact, I think it will do the opposite” he said, predicting that our troops would make matters worse! Later he would say “The surge is not working” and believed our efforts in Iraq would fail.

Officials at Move America Forward are doing what the lap-dancing news media won’t do: Point to the politicians – like Harry Reid – who hope Americans forget their foolish statements, as they now join President Obama in taking credit for the victory that was made possible through the sheer determination of President George W. Bush, along with the courage and dedication of our brave troops who called him Commander-in-Chief.

What has become clear is that politicians stand ready to denounce the troops the moment things get tough, and then rush in to claim victory after the shooting stops and the battle is won.

“I recall Senator Dick Durbin calling our troops ’stormtroopers’ and terrorist detention centers ‘gulags.’ And Senator John Kerry accused our military of terrorizing women and children in the dark of night. But I’m not expecting Katie Couric and the rest of the Obama water-carriers to remind Americans of this outrageous duplicity,” said former intelligence officer and police detective Mike Snopes.

“Now our great Lecturer-in-Chief Obama is trying to claim victory for a mission he actively opposed, and many in his administration now have attempted to take credit for victory in Iraq,” added officials from Move America Forward.
What is angering many is Americans is Vice President Joe Biden calling the outcome of the Iraq war “one of the great achievements of this administration.” trying to argue that Obama and his administration deserve more credit than President Bush or even the troops who fought the war!

Yet when Bush was making the hard decisions to stay the course in Iraq, it was Biden who said “The whole notion that the surge is working is fantasy.”

The truth is that if Obama and Biden had been in charge, America would have already lost the Iraq war, and suffered dearly the consequences. But history has proven Reid, Biden, and Obama to be dead wrong, as it was precisely the strategic surge that allowed American forces to regain momentum in Iraq, and continue their fight to liberate the Iraqi people from under the tyrannical rule of Saddam Hussein.

Obama has done only one thing right, according to Move America Forward officials: He followed the plan of action laid out by Bush and his generals before Obama took office. By sticking to that blueprint, Obama has been fortunate to preside over a great military achievement rather than a defeat.

Employing one of the oldest political tricks in the book — releasing bad or unpopular news to the public on Friday when many Americans are starting their weekend festivities and are less likely to pay attention to news stories – President Barack Obama “pulled a fast one on Americans,” according to law enforcement officers across the nation.

Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder have postponed one of the biggest terrorist trials in U.S. history: The prosecution of the coordinator of al-Qaeda’s attack on the U.S.S. Cole — an attack that left 17 sailors dead and others wounded.

Obama and Holder already created a stir when they wanted the trial of the 9/11 terrorist attack conspirators to take place in New York, but Obama and his minions backed down after the outrage became fever-pitched.

According to Fox News Channel’s Catherine Herridge, the Obama administration has decided to postpone the civilian trial of Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the alleged facilitator of the October 12, 2000 suicide attack on the U.S.S. Cole which was docked on Yemen.

According to Herridge’s report, many observers believe the decision is political in nature with some believing the Democrats do not want the trial to take place during the upcoming election cycle since the Cole attack occurred on a Democrat president’s — Bill Clinton’s — watch.

Others have speculated that the Obama administration does not want to proceed against a high-value war prisoner without the okay to hold civilian trials for other terrorism suspects being held prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.

“Perhaps Obama should stick his nose into having these Muslim terrorists convicted rather that sticking his nose into the Ground Zero Mosque controversy,” said former military intelligence officer and NYPD detective Mike Snopes.

On October 12, 2000, USS Cole, a Naval destroyer under the command of Commander Kirk Lippold, set in to Aden harbor for a routine fuel stop. According to news reports, a small boat approached the port side of the ship and exploded putting a 160-sq. ft. gash in the ship’s port side.

The blast hit the ship’s galley, where crew were lining up for lunch. The crew fought flooding in the engineering spaces and had the damage under control by the evening. Seventeen sailors were killed and thirty-nine others were injured in the blast.

The attack was organized and directed by Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda terrorist organization. In June 2001, an al-Qaeda-released video featuring bin Laden boasted about the attack and encouraged similar attacks.

Upon hearing about this trial postponement, Commander Lippold voiced his furious opposition to the Obama Administration’s latest shenanigans and when — and if — the media begin to cover this story, it’s certain this will become another “New York City mosque” outrage among most Americans, with President Obama and his minions attempting to garner the moral high-ground.

Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for numerous attacks across Iraq during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, according to Pentagon officials.

Al-Qaeda front group, the Islamic State of Iraq, said that during “the month of fasting and jihad” it launched a “new earth-shaking wave” in its campaign of violence, according to AFP.

In the statement posted on Jihadist web sites  the terrorists boasted that they targeted “headquarters, centers and security barriers for the army and apostate police.”

On Wednesday, more than a dozen apparently coordinated car bombs targeting Iraqi police and other attacks blamed on Al-Qaeda in Iraq hit 10 cities and towns around the country, killing 53 people and wounding hundreds.

Iraq has witnessed an upsurge in violence during Ramadan, when insurgents typically step up their activity.

The spike in unrest has triggered concern that Iraqi forces are not yet ready to handle security on their own, just days before the US military ends its combat mission in Iraq, and with no new government formed in Baghdad since a March 7 general election.

Southwest of Mosul yesterday, Iraqi forces killed a suspected member of the Jaysh Rijal Tariqah al-Naqshabandi terrorist organization and arrested two others.

The Jaysh Rijal Tariqah al-Naqshabandi organization took shape after the December 2006 hanging of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

Iraqi forces and U.S. advisors were searching for a leader of the terror group who has ties to other group leaders. When Iraqi forces entered a building in which the suspects were located, a man pretending to be asleep reached for a pistol under his pillow and engaged them, and Iraqi forces killed him. Analysis of his fingerprints determined that he had been detained previously for attacking Iraqi and coalition forces.

Information and evidence at the scene led Iraqi forces to identify and arrest the wanted terrorist leader and a suspected criminal associate.

In Jalulah yesterday, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested two suspected al-Qaeda in Iraq criminal associates while searching for a suspected member of the terrorist group who allegedly is involved in assassinations, kidnappings, insurgent financing and imortar and bombing attacks. Iraqi forces had arrested another suspected associate of the wanted man July 31.

Also yesterday, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested a suspected Kataib Hezballah terrorist group member and three suspected criminal associates in Hussaniyah.

In eastern Mosul, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors searching for a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq member who allegedly has direct involvement in the facilitation and manufacturing of vehicle bombs and roadside bombs arrested a suspected criminal associate of the wanted man.

In a separate operation in eastern Mosul, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors who were searching for the same man arrested 12 other suspected criminal associates.

In eastern Mosul, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested two suspected criminal associates while searching for a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader who allegedly has close ties to senior leadership of the terrorist organization.

In other news, U.S. Forces and Iraqi officials released a statement that disputes reports that August is the “deadliest month in Iraq since 2008.”

However, the statement specifically challenged reports that 535 people were killed in Iraq during July. “The actual total number of people killed in Iraq for the month is 222 due to enemy action, and the number of wounded is 782, for a total of 1,004 casualties,” the statement said.

That total, the statement continued, includes 161 civilians who were killed and 526 who were wounded. Fifty-five members of Iraqi security forces were killed and 201 were wounded, officials said, and one U.S. soldier was killed and 27 were wounded in hostile action.

“The astonishing fact that Iran has been allowed to progress unimpeded to this point demonstrates that President Obama has been an abject failure in even his most fundamental responsibility of protecting the American people,” said Arizona’s U.S. Congressman Trent Franks.

Iran’s continued pursuit of nuclear capabilities is unacceptable in the eyes of the U.S. government, Navy Adm. Mike Mullen said yesterday, according to an American Forces Press Service report by Army Sergeant First-Class Michael Carden.

“Iran is a particularly difficult issue,” Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told local business leaders in Detroit. “Their achieving a nuclear weapon capability is unacceptable and incredibly destabilizing.”

“The astonishing fact that Iran has been allowed to progress unimpeded to this point demonstrates that President Obama has been an abject failure in even his most fundamental responsibility of protecting the American people,” said Arizona’s U.S. Congressman Trent Franks, who serves as a member of the Committee on Armed Services, Strategic Forces Subcommittee, Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee, Military Readiness Subcommittee, Committee on the Judiciary, Constitution Subcommittee.

“It has been obvious for literally years that Iran has every intention of developing a nuclear weapons capability. Indeed, it has been five years since I stood on the floor of the House of Representatives and called for Iran to be referred to the United Nations Security Council. Still, with every new step the Iranian regime has taken toward completing their nuclear weapons program, the Obama Administration has, without fail, cowered on the sidelines, often refusing to enforce even the most rudimentary sanctions, much less sanctions with actual teeth,” said Rep. Franks.

“This is an enormous challenge,” Admiral Mullen said. “We’re working hard to make sure either one of those outcomes doesn’t occur, because I think either will be very bad for all of us.”

The United States is still pursuing a diplomatic approach, he said. Financial sanctions were placed on Iran in June. Military intervention, the admiral added, is not an option the U.S. military currently wants to engage.

Mullen said there’s much the U.S. government doesn’t know about Iran. The countries haven’t had an open dialogue with each other since 1979, Sgt. Carden noted in a report obtained by the Terrorism Committee of the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

“We don’t know each other very well,” the admiral said. “You may think you know enough to understand the consequences, but I worry about miscalculation here. I worry about a small incident rolling itself into something that could get out of hand.”

Iran’s attainment of nuclear weapons would likely lead to a strike against Israel, Mullen said. The Israeli government has a “complete belief” that Iran has that in mind, he added.

“Truly, there is no excuse for having allowed the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism to advance this far in its pursuit of nuclear weapons, just one of which could forever change the face of the world as we know it,” said Congressman Franks.

“If Iran successfully builds nuclear weapons — and they are very rapidly hurtling toward that goal — there is no reason to believe those same weapons will not end up in the hands of terrorist organizations, even as so many other Iranian weapons have in the past. Radical Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad even concedes the technology would not remain exclusive to Iran, saying ‘Iran is ready to transfer nuclear know-how to other Islamic nations due to their need,’” Franks said.

“I pray President Obama wakes up and finally leads on this issue, for should the apathy and recklessness that have marked his entire Presidency continue, Mr. Obama will go down in history as the President who stood by as the shadow of nuclear terrorism descended upon the world,” said Rep. Franks.

“[Iran] is a regime that is a state sponsor of terrorism,” Mullen said, noting the Islamic state’s links to al-Qaeda and extremist fighters in Iraq and Afghanistan. “It is an existential threat. [Nuclear] capability in hand is an existential threat to Israel.”

Mullen said he is hopeful that the issue can be resolved on diplomatic terms. However, ending Iran’s nuclear pursuit is a “very difficult and complex problem.”

“I think Iran is on path to achieve that capability, and we need to be mindful of that,” Mullen said.

A couple, with 2 children, earning over $41,000.00, pay zero taxes and get back almost $10,000.00 from the Government. Need I say more?

And people wonder how the country went broke…

How Does Earned Income Tax Credit Work?

By Credit was created to help certain levels of workers that make only so much money lower the amount of taxes that they owe to the government. As of 2009, the amount of the credit can be anywhere from $2,900 to $4,800, depending on the taxpayer’s status and how many dependents there are in the home. Those without any kids can only get around $400 in credit. In some cases, half of this amount can be given to the taxpayer in advance throughout the year instead of having to wait until the taxes are filed. This is done through payroll checks.

  • The credit directly reduces the amount of a person’s final tax amount due to the government. If a refund is due to the taxpayer, the credit will increase the refund. It is not a deduction that lowers the wage amount that taxes are figured on–it comes off the bottom line dollar for dollar.
  • To get the Earned Income Tax Credit, an individual needs to earn less that $33,995 if single and $36,995 if married with one dependent (all figures here are current as of 2009). If there is more than one child, the dollar amounts are $38,646 and $41,646. If there are no children, then the person must be at least 25 years old and younger than 65, must earn under $12,880 or $15,880, depending if the person is single or married. Also, the credit only can be given for income earned through wages or self-employment. Everyone listed on the return must have a social security card, and the income tax form filed has to be 1040 or 1040A. Married individuals have to file together and fill out an Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) schedule for their children.

A Look into the Future of the USA, a lesson in global social engineering.

    By Glenn Smith Jr

A couple of days ago I was reading an article about President Obama and a report being delivered to the U.N Commission on Human Rights. This piqued my interest so I went on a search for the document itself.  Here it is: Report of the United States of America Submitted to the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights In Conjunction with the Universal Periodic Review.

This report contains some very telling information into the thinking of the Obama Administration and its Global Socialist agenda. What was even more revealing was just how much of this agenda has been developed over the past 60 years. Mr. Obama has come to power at a very opportune time to promote his Globalist views. These views are very much in line with those of many foreign nations (friend and foe). I highly recommend taking the time to read the entire document. Since it is 29 pages in length, I will highlight some of my findings for consideration.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, I heard it said that we had to choose between a National Socialist and a Global Socialist. John McCain is a patriot and loves the USA but his record clearly shows a Socialist leaning. Barak Obama, on the other hand, is clearly a Global Socialist. His actions and dealings in the international scene have proven this to be without doubt. Now we can see just how he intends to accomplish the progression of turning the US from a free republic to a “global partner” with sharply reduced sovereignty.

Here are some excerpts from the report:

Section 1: Introduction – We present our first Universal Periodic Review (UPR) report in the context of our commitment to help to build a world in which universal rights give strength and direction to the nations, partnerships, and institutions that can usher us toward a more perfect world, a world characterized by, as President Obama has said, “a just peace based on the inherent rights and dignity of every individual.”

You will notice certain terms used throughout this report such as “universal rights” and “nations, partnerships, and institutions that can usher us toward a more perfect world”. The beginning of this report is part history lesson and part propaganda.

Another excerpt from the introduction: It is our political system that enables our economy and undergirds our global influence. As President Obama wrote in the preface to the recently published National Security Strategy, “democracy does not merely represent our better angels, it stands in opposition to aggression and injustice, and our support for universal rights is both fundamental to American leadership and a source of our strength in the world.”

Again, please note the key terms of universal rights.

One last clip from the intro: The ideas that informed and inform the American experiment can be found all over the world, and the people who have built it over centuries have come from every continent. The American experiment is a human experiment; the values on which it is based, including a commitment to human rights, are clearly engrained in our own national conscience, but they are also universal.

Here is part of section 2 discussing a governmental role: II.2 Enduring commitments

    11. As we look to the future, the United States stands committed to the enduring promises of protecting individual freedoms, fairness and equality before the law, and human dignity—promises that reflect the inalienable rights of each person. Our commitment to the rights protected in our Constitution is matched by a parallel commitment to foster a society characterized by shared prosperity. Finally, we are committed to the idea that the values behind the domestic promises articulated in our Constitution should also guide and inform our engagement with the world.

The bulk of the middle section takes you on a tour of the things our government has done toward these goals over time. Much of the things listed here are discussions about voting and civil right laws passed in the last 100 years. I want to point out that not all of these things were bad or dangerous in and of themselves. As a matter of fact, much of these things were great ideas. That notwithstanding, let us continue.

Here is the Obama interpretation of things, as spelled out in section 3:

III. A commitment to freedom, equality, and dignity

    12. Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights declares that “all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights” and that they are “endowed with reason and conscience.” This basic truth suggests the kinds of obligations—both positive and negative—that governments have with regard to their citizens.

    13. People should be free and should have a say in how they are governed. Governments have an obligation not to restrict fundamental freedoms unjustifiably, and governments need to create the laws and institutions that secure those freedoms.

    14. People should enjoy fair treatment reflected in due process and equality before the law. Governments have an obligation not to discriminate or persecute and should establish mechanisms for protection and redress.

    15. People should be treated with dignity. Governments have an obligation to protect the security of the person and to respect human dignity.

    16. These obligations are what enable people to claim “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” as their just entitlements. These same rights are encoded in international human rights law and in our own Constitution.

I find it interesting that in practice, the Obama administration ignores the concept of people having a say in how they are governed.

Another area of hypocrisy is seen in this statement: Law enforcement is one of the fundamental duties of any state. Our commitment to the inalienable rights of each person guides our efforts to ensure that our law enforcement system reflects and respects those rights.

Apparently, the DOJ hasn’t got this memo.

The next several pages go on to discuss fairness in a wide array of topics. I want to now focus on the real telling parts of this report, the sections near the end and its conclusions. It is here that we will find the heart of the matter.

This next section begins to expose the Globalist process:

A commitment to values in our engagement across borders

    77. The United States understands its role as a cornerstone in an international system of cooperation to preserve global security, support the growth of global prosperity, and progress toward world peace based on respect for the human rights and dignity of every person.

    78. Our own efforts to build such a world include our role as the world’s largest donor of development aid—including our commitment to disaster relief as seen recently in Haiti and Pakistan. And they include a commitment to using “smart power” in our foreign policy, 20

including a focus on honest, determined diplomacy and on harnessing the full potential of international institutions to facilitate cooperation.

The Constitution never spelled out the US role as being a cornerstone in an international system of cooperation to preserve global security. In the beginning, we were isolationist and were simply looking to deal with our own issues. Now we are a superpower with global responsibilities. Yes, we need to be a good neighbor and use our wealth and might for good, but that doesn’t mean that we are to be the central supplier of success for everyone else. If the USA was able to build to its level of success by utilizing the governmental and economic structure provided by our constitution, then so should every other country that follows this process. The issue here is that the other countries don’t want to do that. They instead are looking to siphon off that which we have built. This is what is at the heart of Global Wealth Re-Distribution.

If you need more, look at this:

    80. The fundamental truth which grounds the principles of government enshrined in our Constitution—that each person is created with equal value from which flows inalienable rights—is not an exclusively American truth; it is a universal one. It is the truth that anchors the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it is the truth that underpins the legitimate purposes and obligations not just of our government, but of all governments.

    81. We are committed to that universal truth, and so we are committed to principled engagement across borders and with foreign governments and their citizens. This commitment includes, in the words of our Declaration of Independence, according “decent respect to the opinions of mankind,” and seeking always to preserve and protect the dignity of all persons, because the values that we cherish apply everywhere and to everyone.

There is nothing wrong with educating other nations with our system, but the process must stop there. Any nation that desires to have the success and prosperity of the UAS must embrace and employ the principles and structure of the USA for themselves. It is not our responsibility to do it for them.

This next section deals with immigration. I am including it in its entirety so that there can be no mistaking what is in it and what it means to the US citizens:

     V.2 Values and Immigration

    92. That immigrants have been consistently drawn to our shores throughout our history is both a testament to and a source of the strength and appeal of our vibrant democracy. As he left office, President Reagan remarked that the United States is “still a beacon, still a magnet for all who must have freedom, for all the pilgrims from all the lost places who are hurtling through the darkness, toward home.” Over the last 50 years, the U.S. has accepted several million refugees fleeing persecution from all corners of the globe as well as many millions of immigrants seeking a better life or joining family. Today, the United States and other countries to which a significant number of people seek to emigrate face challenges in developing and enforcing immigration laws and policies that reflect economic, social, and national security realities. In addressing these issues we seek to build a system of immigration enforcement that is both effective and fair.

    93. In 2009, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) began a major overhaul of the U.S. immigration detention system in an effort to improve detention center management and prioritize health, safety, and uniformity among immigration detention facilities, while ensuring security and efficiency. As part of this effort, in conjunction with ongoing consultations with non-governmental organizations and outside experts, DHS issued revised parole guidelines, effective January 2010, for arriving aliens in expedited removal found to have a credible fear of persecution or torture. The new guidelines firmly establish that it is not in the public interest to detain those arriving aliens found to have a credible fear who establish their identities, and that they pose neither a flight risk nor a danger to the community.

    94. Under section 287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, DHS may delegate authority to state and local officers to enforce federal immigration law. DHS has made improvements to the 287(g) program, including implementing a new, standardized Memorandum of Agreement with state and local partners that strengthens program oversight and provides uniform guidelines for DHS supervision of state and local agency officer operations; information reporting and tracking; complaint procedures; and implementation measures. DHS continues to evaluate the program, incorporating additional safeguards as necessary to aid in the prevention of racial profiling and civil rights violations and improve accountability for protecting human rights.

    95. A recent Arizona law, S.B. 1070, has generated significant attention and debate at home and around the world. The issue is being addressed in a court action that argues that the federal government has the authority to set and enforce immigration law. That action is ongoing; parts of the law are currently enjoined.

    96. President Obama remains firmly committed to fixing our broken immigration system, because he recognizes that our ability to innovate, our ties to the world, and our economic prosperity depend on our capacity to welcome and assimilate immigrants. The Administration will continue its efforts to work with the U.S. Congress and affected communities toward this end.

It was this section that brought my attention to this document in the first place. Currently there is an all out effort being waged by the Obama administration to undermine and reduce the rights of the individual States. Our constitution gave the Federal Government very narrow powers and left much of the governing authority to the States. Since the end of the Civil War there has been a fundamental shift in this balance. The Federal government by legislation, court rulings and fiat administrative declaration, is in a power grab that, if left unchecked, will eventually lead to a complete collapse of the nation we now have. I do believe that this is the ultimate goal of the Globalist movement and our current president is in league with it.

Please take the time to read all of what is there. Study history and educate yourself. This is the only way that “WE The People” can hope to retain what is left of OUR CULTURE and rebuild the society that our forefathers fought and died to preserve.

This is an addendum to this post. It is a letter sent by Gov. Jan Brewer to Sec. Hillary Clinton in response to the inclusion of Arizona Immigration bill HB 1070 in this report.

Here is a link to the list of “member nations” for this council. Some real “himan Rights” champions there.

The [Obama Administration] report says that it welcomes “observations and recommendations” from concerned members of the U.N. Human Rights Council, which includes countries such as North Korea, Saudi Arabia and Libya.

The Obama Administration made public its first-ever report to the United Nations Human Rights Council detailing the condition of human rights in America and subjecting our nation to criticism from countries like Iran, Cuba, China and others.

According to the report, the United States violates human rights because of high unemployment rates, hate crimes, poverty, poor housing, lack of access to health care, and discriminatory hiring practices affecting Blacks, Latinos, Muslims, South Asians, Native Americans, and homosexuals.

The report also discusses the rate of sexual assault in U.S. prisons and the detention of suspected terrorists at Guantanamo Bay.

“It is a disgrace when this President denigrates his own country to curry favor with the despots and thugs at the United Nations. Obviously, President Obama sees America and a global villain,” said former intelligence officer and police detective Sid Franes.

“When the United Nations first approached U.S. officials about ‘human rights inspections,” the Bush administration refused to allow any infringement on national sovereignty. Of course, we had Ambassador John Bolton representing us in that corrupt institution and the liberals hated Bolton because he stood up to the UN establishment,” he added.

The report discusses Obama’s new healthcare and financial industry reforms, and the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, which gives women the right to sue employers if they are paid less than men are. Obama also announced his commitment to repeal the military’s so-called “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. The report also discusses new regulations that increase accessibility for people with disabilities.

The report says that it welcomes “observations and recommendations” from concerned members of the U.N. Human Rights Council, which includes countries such as North Korea, Saudi Arabia and Libya. President Obama is hoping these foreign nations “can help us on the road to a more perfect union.” The administration went on to say that “Although we have made great strides, work remains to meet our goal of ensuring equality before the law for all.”

What the Human Rights report did not mention were incidents of physical violence perpetrated against Tea Party participants. It also failed to mention voter intimidation by the New Black Panther Party and the questionable activities of ACORN.

Mathew Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented: “The presidency of Barack Obama will be remembered as one that sought to humiliate America by prostrating it before some of the worst human rights violators in the world. To ask North Korea to help America ‘form a more perfect union’ is insane.”

~ Nationwide Christian Voter Registration Drive ~

Calvin Coolidge, Thirtieth President of the United States said, “If the people fail to vote, a government will be developed which is not their government…  The whole system of American Government rests on the ballot box. Unless citizens perform their duties there, such a system of government is doomed to failure.”

Of the 52 million voter-eligible Evangelical Christians in America, 10 million were not registered to vote for the 2006 Election, and over 20 million who were registered, did not vote. Quite simply, less than 40 percent of all eligible to vote Evangelical Christians in America…voted.

Millions of evangelical Christians, out of apathy, ignorance, or indifference, choose not to vote in election after election. Our absence from the voting booth has contributed greatly to the moral, spiritual, economic, and political disintegration of America.

Dwight D. Eisenhower, 34th President of the United States said, “The future of this republic is in the hands of the American voter.”

Franklin D. Roosevelt, 32nd President of the United States said, “Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us.  The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressman and government officials, but the voters of this country.”

Too often, Christians are being misled about participation of their churches in the elective process.  While pastors and church elders are prohibited from endorsing candidates or parties on behalf of their congregations because of the tax-exempt status of the church, the Internal Revenue Service has specifically stated that “activities intended to encourage people to participate in the election process, such as voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives, would not be prohibited political campaign activity if conducted in a nonpartisan manner.”

“We Christians are commanded by Christ Himself to be ‘salt and light’ to the culture in which we live, and Voting is an important aspect of that duty,” writes David Crowe, the Founder and President of Restore America.

An ordained minister, David speaks and writes frequently on America’s Christian heritage and each Christian’s duty to participate responsibly in the elective process.  At the restoreamerica.net web site, dedicated to registering and turning out the highest Christian Turnout in American history at the polls on November 2nd , Crowe states, “Voting is our minimal citizenship responsibility, a stewardship and a duty as salt and light Christians.”

On the site, and in his slide presentation, he quotes Samuel Adams, Father of the American Revolution and Signer of the Declaration, who said, “Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote…that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.”

    Objectives of Restore America:

    • 100% Voter Registration and Turnout amongst Christians in every election

The information obtained in the public records request includes the date that each illegal immigrant was taken into custody by the federal government, which ICE jurisdiction arrested them, the date they were released, the status of their case and other personal details about the alien. The records specifically state that there are 481 “active” cases for “fugitives” from the four state sponsors of terror and nine of the 10 “countries of interest.”

Cuba has the most with 137, followed by Nigeria (97), Pakistan (87) and Lebanon (34). Iran and Iraq have 29 and 26 respectively. The rest include Somalia (22), Sudan (14), Syria (13) and Yemen and Algeria with eight each. Afghanistan has four and Saudi Arabia, where most of the 9/11 hijackers came from, has two.

ICE justifies their release by explaining that the immigration detention system can only accommodate a portion of the 1.6 million aliens being processed in the country. Everyone can’t be detained, so “we have to prioritize who we put in detention,” an ICE official told CNS.

Apparently the U.S. government doesn’t consider it a priority to keep undocumented nationals from terrorist-sponsoring nations from roaming freely throughout the country, said an official from Judicial Watch.

GOVERNMENT, THE GREATEST VILLIAN IN KATRINA TRAGEDY

    By Jeff Crouere

    August 25, 2010

Five years after Hurricane Katrina, the biggest adversary for the people of Louisiana continues to be government at all levels, local, state and especially, federal.

Hurricane Katrina was a devastating storm, but the destruction was made much greater by the failure of the levees that were built to protect the city. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers constructed levees that were supposedly built to withstand a Category 3 storm. Katrina was only a Category 3 storm when it hit the Louisiana coast, but the levees did not hold and as a result, 80 percent of New Orleans was flooded. The devastation was immense as 1836 people died and the property damage reached $81 billion.

As we commemorate the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the worst natural and man-made disaster in American history, it is worthwhile to remember one of the storm’s biggest lessons: self-reliance. The people who survived were those who heeded the call to evacuate, while those who died remained in the city, dependent on a government that thoroughly failed to protect the people. People without the means of transportation were stuck in the city amidst total chaos. All levels of government were ill-prepared and ill-equipped to handle the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.

The Army Corps of Engineers failed to build proper levees and the Orleans Parish Levee Board failed to maintain those suspect levees, making devastation even more intense. The result was that New Orleans was destroyed and people died needlessly.

There was failure on all levels of government. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin did not evacuate residents using scores of available school buses, which flooded in storm waters. He was overwhelmed by the disaster and took refuge on the top floor of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. He was overcome by the monumental disaster, but he was certainly not the only one. The New Orleans Police Department was left without credible leadership and there was anarchy in the department and on the streets of the city. Too many officers abandoned their positions and left town without permission. Others were engaged in wanton, criminal behavior that is just now being prosecuted by the Justice Department. Sadly, one of the department’s worst decisions was to take away guns from law abiding citizens. As the police self-destructed, the last thing that should have been done was to disarm a nervous public.

In the early days after the hurricane, there was lawlessness on the streets of New Orleans . As fires were burning and the flood waters had not yet receded, the federal government was much too slow to respond. While television cameras were recording horrific scenes of despair at the Louisiana Superdome and the Morial Convention Center , the federal government was nowhere to be seen. It took five long days after Katrina for FEMA to provide initial help to the storm victims. Eventually, the U.S. Army, under the command of Lt. General Russell Honore, a “John Wayne” type leader, restored order in the city.

In the months and years after the storm, a rebuilding program was administered by the State of Louisiana using funds provided by the federal government. This “Road Home” program had the stamp of approval of Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco. In fact, it was called Blanco’s program, but unfortunately for the Governor it was an unmitigated failure. The Road Home program was rife with waste, mismanagement, fraud and incompetence. Disbursements to storm victims were tardy and inadequate, as the program was improperly managed by ICF, a Virginia firm with no experience in this type of activity. The firm was paid a handsome sum, but did not deliver quality results to people demanding action. Five years after the storm, some people are still waiting for their “Road Home” grants. The program was nicknamed the “Road to Nowhere,” and it perfectly characterized the political fortunes of Governor Blanco. The program was so unpopular that Blanco decided to forgo the embarrassment and not run for re-election in the fall of 2007.

The money supposedly earmarked for citizens was stuck in the disastrous “Road Home” program. Other rebuilding money was directly allocated to municipalities like New Orleans . The New Orleans Recovery Director Ed Blakely promised there would be a robust recovery and that “cranes in the sky” would be seen all over the city. Sadly, the cranes never materialized, but there were certainly plenty of questions about Blakely. Inquiring minds wanted to know why Mayor Nagin hired a Recovery Director who only worked part-time in New Orleans and maintained his residence in Australia . With so much of his time focused on lecturing and traveling, Blakely’s impact on New Orleans was limited. In the end, this was a case of more unfilled promises from another government official.

Some major infrastructure projects are finally getting started and the future of New Orleans looks much brighter. The city has a new Mayor, an honest District Attorney and a competent Police Chief. The disaster forced major reforms in public education and now New Orleans is a model for innovation in public education. Charter schools have been started all over New Orleans and the bureaucracy of the Orleans Parish School Board has been dismantled. Prior to Katrina, the school board was known for corruption and waste. Today, the school board only controls a handful of schools and bureaucrats can no longer wreck havoc on poor school children. The corrupt board members have either been convicted or removed from office by the voters.

Five years after the hurricane, the City of New Orleans perseveres despite constant threats from the Gulf. As new levees are being constructed, the real problem of coastal erosion remains unaddressed. The coast has been destroyed by canals constructed by oil and gas companies and the effect of serious storms over the years. Only token efforts have been made to repair a coast that is eroding at a rate of a football field a day. This lack of action is maybe the government’s greatest failure. Without the proper coastal restoration, no amount of levee reconstruction will ever protect a city that is eight feet below sea level.

Through all of the challenges, the one constant has been the people of New Orleans , who remain resilient and committed to their unique city and their unique way of life. Congratulations are in order to the thousands of people who returned to the Crescent City on their own with little or no help from the government and in spite of the action and inaction of various government entities. The people of New Orleans remain the true heroes in the ongoing saga of Hurricane Katrina and the long aftermath.

Professionalism in the Workplace: An Important Element for Career Success

    By

    Ruben Britt, Jr.

Professionalism in the workplace is a particular form of business etiquette, which is an important element in achieving success in the workplace. It is the quintessential way professional businessmen and women conduct themselves. Business etiquette relies on tradition, social expectations and behavior standards. Although sound office manners may not be listed in your job description, they definitely play a crucial role in your career. Your career success will depend on your ability to incorporate business etiquette and life-long learning skills into your daily activities.

Life-long learning skills are those skills that have been honed and refined. They are retrievable on demand to negotiate effective outcomes. Employees gain valuable training through many vehicles including employer-training programs. In fact, employers spend over $40 billion dollars annually for employee training. We live in a skill-oriented society. Employees who do not continually seek opportunities inside and outside the workplace to constantly upgrade their skills are expendable. Occupations continue to increase their educational requirements with no end in sight. Employers want individuals who possess an array of transferable skills.

    What are transferable skills?

Transferable skills are the set of skills that are transferable from one job to another. They may consist of the following:

    Able to analyze information                                        Managing/Supervising

    Adaptability                                                                 Negotiating/Arbitrating

    Budget management                                                   Organizing

    Communication                                                           Personal management

    Computer literate                                                        Problem-solving

    Critical thinking                                                          Processing information

    Editing                                                                         Public speaking

    Fluent in another language                                         Reading

    Group effectiveness                                                     Researching

    Interviewing                                                                Teaching/Instructing

    Leadership                                                                  Time management

    Listening                                                                      Writing

Listening and oral communication skills quickly rise to the top as vital skills because these skills encompass most of our daily activities at work. The average person spends 8.4% of communication time writing, 13.3% of reading, 23% speaking and 55% listening. Therefore, communication skills are crucial to success on the job. Furthermore, employers go to great lengths to identify adaptable team members.

Adaptability, personal management, group effectiveness and influence are major factors that attribute in one’s personal and professional development. Progressive businesses and organizations want individuals who are flexible and able to keep pace with new developments in technology, changes in the marketplace and new management practices. Employees who are innovative problem-solvers are highly sought after in today’s business world and are less likely to be the victim of budget cuts.

Personal management consists of an assortment of skills such as self-esteem, goal-setting and personal/career development. Self-esteem is necessary for employees to take pride in their work and goal setting helps motivate them to achieve stated objectives. It is important for you to learn how to advance within an organization and what opportunities exist outside your present employer.

Group effectiveness is another key element in the success of any organization. In today’s marketplace, it is imperative that workers understand and practice teamwork, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Individuals who learn how to work effectively in groups are the backbone of progressive organizations that build successful businesses and programs. Aside from working effectively in groups, each person must institute their own influence in order to successfully contribute ideas to an organization. It is important to understand the organizational structure and informal networks in order to implement new ideas or complete certain tasks.

Success in the workplace will not be derived from your academic or technical knowledge or experience. It will be a direct result from your ability to utilize proper business etiquette and communicate effectively. Non-verbal communication actions such as handshakes, body language and eye contact are used instinctively to evaluate a person and form a first impression.

    Business Do’s and Don’ts

    • Be careful with your appearance (proper hygiene and wearing the right clothes)
    • Be friendly (getting along with your supervisor and co-workers)
    • Learn the culture of the organization
    • Honor other people’s territory
    • Learn how to do your job and expand your knowledge
    • Communicate and listen
    • Don’t use regional or slang expressions
    • Utilize professional development programs
    • Punctuality and attendance
    • Keep an open mind
    • Follow through with work/projects assignments
    • Keep personal information to yourself
    • Be positive and supportive
    • Don’t borrow money
    • Try to solve your own problems
    • Don’t be in a too big a hurry to advance

In a tough economy you don’t want to become a victim of short-term employment because of inappropriate behavior in the workplace. Good office manners means good business and it also plays a crucial role in your career. If you know what to do, when to do it and how to do it with grace and style, you will have the competitive edge in the workplace. Professionalism in the workplace is understanding the employer’s expectations and setting personal goals.

When Attorney General Eric Holder should be prosecuting terrorists, he is wasting time manufacturing baseless lawsuits against patriotic sheriffs such as Joe Arpaio and harmless pro-lifers. This [latest] action by the Attorney General is an abuse of power and an example of misplaced priorities.

With terrorists lurking throughout the nation, illegal aliens preying on American citizens, and government corruption a daily occurrence, the U.S. Department of Justice is embroiled in a legal battle against a pro-life advocate in Florida.

Liberty Counsel, a public-interest group affiliated with Liberty University, has agreed to represent Mary Susan Pine, a sidewalk abortion counselor, who is being sued by the politically motivated U.S. Attorney General, Eric Holder.

Using the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) federal law and seeking the maximum fine of $10,000, Holder alleges that Pine “obstructed” a car entering a Florida abortion clinic nearly a year ago, on November 19, 2009. The suit is entitled Holder v. Pine

Holder’s lawsuit acknowledges that Pine frequently appears at the Presidential Women’s Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Pine herself has had an abortion and for the past 20 years has counseled women about the tragedy of abortion.

The suit alleges only one act on November 19, 2009, in which Holder claims Pine obstructed a car by stepping in front of the vehicle when it entered the clinic. Pine never obstructs anyone and denies she ever obstructed any vehicle.

Notwithstanding, Holder’s suit alleges Pine is a threat and must be fined the maximum of $10,000. Holder’s complaint is only 3½ pages. Since the passage of FACE in 1994, this case is the first time anyone has been sued in Florida under the law.

In the Liberty Counsel case of Cheffer v. Reno, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that FACE can only be applied to actual physical force or threat of force. Based on the erroneous allegations in Holder’s complaint, the Attorney General has no case, say legal experts.

Mathew Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented: “This lawsuit by Attorney General Eric Holder is politically motivated and patently frivolous. It is designed to intimidate pro-lifers. We will not allow the Attorney General to push around little people and intimidate them for their pro-life beliefs.”

“When Attorney General Eric Holder should be prosecuting terrorists, he is wasting time manufacturing baseless lawsuits against harmless pro-lifers. This action by the Attorney General is an abuse of power and an example of misplaced priorities,” he said.

Arizona Senator John McCain is enjoying a comfortable lead over his primary opponent J.D. Hayworth, who garnered the support of the Tea Party movement and most conservative organizations.

Many political pundits say they believe that Senator John McCain will win Arizona’s Republican primary, after his almost sudden embrace of conservatism and spending millions of dollars fighting former congressman and conservative radio show host J.D. Hayworth. While McCain enjoys the support of the GOP establishment, the Tea Party groups support Hayworth who, unlike McCain, is seeking tough federal action on the illegal immigration issue.

Hayworth shocked many political observers and pundits when polls first had him running close to McCain, but the four-time senator came racing back after shifting to the right on key issues such as illegal immigration and border security.

McCain had a war chest contained over $20 million into the primary race, while Hayworth reportedly had a mere $2.5 miillion. Sadly, it appears McCain’s political strategy of moving to the right during election cycles and then lurching to the left once victory is achieved will dupe Arizona voters yet again.

Perhaps voters should remember that before McCain was for tough illegal immigration enforcement and legislation, he was against it.
In 2006, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and his friend the late Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) introduced a new immigration bill that was even more liberal than their past “amnesty” bill. They called it a fast-track to citizenship for illegal aliens.

US Border Patrol agents have been unhappy with Senator John McCain (R-AZ) since he voted for the first Amnesty Bill (S. 2611). And they were not quiet about their collective anger over the senator’s actions and remarks.

According to members of the agents’ union local 2544, Senator McCain is no friend to rank-and-file Border Patrol agents. Local 2544 represents US Border Patrol agents in Arizona, McCain’s home state.

“He routinely ignores correspondence from Border Patrol agents and often gives the impression that he is just too big and too important to deal with us,” they said.

“He attempts to undermine our mission at every turn and actively supports the criminals who violate our laws. He always tries to downplay the fact that illegal aliens knowingly and willingly violate our laws, and he is a close ally on immigration matters with Senator Ted Kennedy, who we believe is the biggest disgrace of all time in the United States Senate.”

These law enforcement agents point to Senator McCain’s “imperious attitude” towards rank-and-file Border Patrol agents and his complete disdain for their mission has been evident for many years.

“We will not bother listing his web site [for citizens to write to him] because it’s obvious he couldn’t care less what the average American thinks.”
There is also a belief that McCain is a bit too cozy with the Mexican government. The agents had said that this is the same Mexican government that sends millions of Mexican citizens here illegally to steal jobs and send billions of dollars back to Mexico. This is the same Mexican government whose soldiers smuggle drugs and shoot at Border Patrol agents. This is the same Mexican government that is corrupt to the core. This is the same Mexican government that uses its consular officers to sue the United States government.

“It sells out our sovereignty by forcing the American government to “consult with the Mexican government before planning or building any border fences, it encourages more widespread fraud than this country has ever seen (you’ll see what we’re talking about if this actually passes the House), and it is completely unenforceable and will overwhelm the system,” the agents said in a statement in 2006.

“You [McCain, Kennedy, Specter, et al] have succeeded in placing the morale of frontline Border Patrol agents in the toilet just when we thought it couldn’t possibly get any worse.”

U.S. Justice Department attorneys are meeting today with Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, as they look into allegations of civil rights violations in his department’s treatment of illegal aliens.   Justice Department investigators say that they gave the sheriff’s lawyers over a week to turn over documents and cooperate with their inquiry.

Attorney General Eric Holder is continuing his more than one year investigation into whether Arpaio’s policies and law enforcement sweeps discriminate against illegal aliens.

The popular Arpaio, who is called “America’s toughest sheriff” by millions of supporters across the nation is known for his opposition to criminal aliens who are committing crimes in his jurisdiction.

His supporters — many who work in law enforcement – say the Justice Department’s civil rights probe and its separate criminal investigation are politically motivated.

“This is an empty-suit attorney general [Eric Holder] wasting taxpayers’ money on an investigation of a law enforcement chief who cares more than Obama’s minions about the safety and security of Americans. This is a federal government that’s out of control,” says a former police commander now an owner of a New York City security firm.

Each year, millions of visitors, foreign students, and immigrants come to the United States. Foreign visitors may enter on a legal temporary basis — that is, with an authorized period of admission that expires on a specific date — either with temporary visas (generally for tourism, business, or work) or, in some cases, as tourists or business visitors who are allowed to enter without visas.

The majority of visitors who are tracked depart on time, but others overstay — and since September 11, 2001, the question has arisen as to whether overstay issues might have an impact on domestic security.

Significant numbers of foreign visitors overstay their authorized periods of admission. Based in part on its long-standing I-94 system for tracking arrivals and departures, the Department of Homeland Security estimated the overstay population at 2.3 million. But this estimate excludes an unknown number of long-term overstays from Mexico and Canada, and by definition and it excludes short-term overstays from these and other countries.

Because of unresolved weaknesses in DHS’s long-standing tracking system (e.g., non-collection of some departure forms), there is no accurate list of overstays. Tracking system weaknesses make it difficult to monitor potentially suspicious aliens who enter the country legally–and limit immigration control options. Post-September 11 operations identified thousands of overstays and other illegal immigrant workers who (despite limited background checks) had obtained critical infrastructure jobs and security badges with access to, for example, airport tarmacs and U.S. military bases.

While federal investigators have arrested more than 1,360 illegal workers,  the majority have eluded apprehension. Together with other improvements, better information on overstays might contribute to a layered national defense that is better able to counter threats from foreign terrorists. A more comprehensive system, US-VISIT, the U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology, is being phased in.

The design and implementation of US-VISIT, however, face a number of challenges. It is important that this new program avoid specific weaknesses associated with the long-standing system. Checking for these weaknesses might help identify difficult challenges in advance and–together with other efforts–enhance US-VISIT’s chances for eventual success as a tracking system.

The National Strategy for Homeland Security calls for preventing foreign terrorists from entering our country and using all legal means to identify; halt; and where appropriate, prosecute or bring immigration or other civil charges against terrorists in the United States. Congress reported in June 2003 that the visa revocation process needed to be strengthened as an antiterrorism tool and recommended that the Department of Homeland Security, in conjunction with the Departments of State and Justice, develop specific policies and procedures to ensure that appropriate agencies are notified of revocations based on terrorism grounds and take proper actions.

An analysis shows that the Departments of State and Homeland Security took some actions -to address weaknesses in the visa revocation process identified in its June 2003 report. However, a review of visas revoked, including a detailed review of a random sample of 35 cases, showed that weaknesses remained in the implementation of the revocation process, especially in the timely transmission of information among federal agencies.

For example, delays exist in matching names of suspected terrorists with names of visa holders and in forwarding necessary information to the State Department. In at least 3 of the 35 cases, it took them 6 months or more to revoke visas after receiving a recommendation to do so. In 3 cases, it took a week or longer after deciding to revoke visas to post a lookout or notify the Department of Homeland Security.

Without these notifications, DHS may not know to investigate those individuals who may be in the country. In 10 cases, DHS either failed to notify or took several months to notify immigration investigators that individuals with revoked visas may be in the country. It then took over 2 months for immigration investigators to request field investigations of these individuals.

After government investigators initiated its first inquiry, additional actions were taken to improve the process, including revising procedures and reassessing the process. The DHS and State Department believe these actions will help avoid the delays experienced in the past. The State Department revised its procedures and formalized its tracking system for visa revocation cases. DHS has developed new written procedures and acted to ensure that immigration investigators are aware of all individuals with revoked visas who may be in the country.

The State Department and DHS also took some steps to address legal and policy issues related to visa revocations. In April, the Terrorist Screening Center, an interagency group organized under the Federal Bureau of Investigation, identified the visa revocation process as a potential homeland security vulnerability and developed an informal process for TSC to handle visa revocation cases. However, weaknesses remain.

For example, State’s and DHS’s procedures are not fully coordinated and lack performance standards, such as specific time frames, for completing each step of the process. Outstanding legal and policy issues continue to exist regarding the removal of individuals based solely on their visa revocation.

After 14 days of jury deliberation, the verdict in the trial of disgraced former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was not guilty on all but one of the 23 counts. And a number of Americans are wondering why — after months of grandstanding by the prosecutor U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald — citizens are left with practically nothing after millions of their tax dollars were spent on this Chicago corruption case. One group, a Washington, DC legal watchdog group, began its own investigation into this case that was expected to — but did not – touch President Barack Obama’s inner-circle.

According to The New York Times

Prosecutors here once said that the conduct of Rod R. Blagojevich, the former governor of Illinois, was so despicable it would make Abraham Lincoln “roll over in his grave,” but 12 jurors in the federal corruption case against him were apparently not all so certain.

After deliberating for 14 days, the jury found Mr. Blagojevich guilty of a single criminal count — making false statements to the F.B.I., which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, one of the least severe penalties in the charges against him.

Public-interest group, Judicial Watch, sent their own correspondent – Irene Garcia — to Chicago to report on the Blagojevich trial first-hand.

    * Blagojevich’s former Chief of Staff John Harris testified that President Obama had personal knowledge of Blagojevich’s scheme to get his hands on a presidential cabinet position by appointing a candidate handpicked by the president to take over Obama’s former Senate seat.

    * Obama’s preferred candidate, at least initially, according to testimony, was Valerie Jarrett, currently the Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement. (Obama and Jarrett go all the way back to the days when Obama was a law professor and Jarrett an alleged corrupt slumlord.)

    * Explosive federal wiretaps played at trial captured Blagojevich offering Obama’s Senate seat for a cabinet position. In one conversation, Blagojevich told Harris he wanted to be named Secretary of Health and Human Services if Valerie Jarrett got Obama’s seat. If Health Secretary “was available to me I could do Valerie  Jarrett in a heartbeat,” Blagojevich is heard saying.

    * The president also sent Blagojevich a list of other “acceptable” Senate candidates to fill his old seat. The list included Tammy Duckworth, Illinois State Comptroller Dan Hynes, Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. and Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, according to Harris. Harris also testified that three days after the 2008 presidential election Blagojevich told him he felt confident Obama wanted to swap perks.

    * Blagojevich repeatedly ferried messages to President Obama through White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. For example, John Harris testified that Blagojevich asked him to call Obama’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel to see if the president was “still in agreement” that the Senate seat should go to Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (The evidence suggests that Rep. Jackson, Jr. separately sought the Senate seat in exchange for a $1 million payoff.)

“It looked to me that the trial was turning into a political nightmare for the Obama White House. And this may explain why the prosecution shut their case down a month early,” said Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton.

Immediately following the Blagojevich verdict, federal prosecutors promised to quickly retry the case, leading The Washington Post to speculate whether the Obama White House would be dragged into the mess this time around:

…if U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald has his way, there will be a new trial. New attempts by the prosecution to build a case against Blagojevich. New efforts by the defense to subpoena Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and senior adviser Valerie Jarrett to the stand.

It might be no more likely that Jarrett and Emanuel would actually testify in court, but just the prospect will generate headlines again — headlines that would not aid the president’s goal of keeping his administration focused on the economy.

“Let’s hope prosecutors get it right this time. I suspect that Eric Holder’s politicized Justice Department interfered with the investigation conducted by the reputedly independent U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. This trial and our independent investigation showed Obama lied about his communications with Blago. This is a serious case that demands an investigation and prosecution untainted by politics,” said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton.

“If and when there is a new trial, Irene will once again be back on the job, and I will continue to keep you posted in this space,” he stated.

The nation’s largest pro-troop organization is calling on California Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown to renounce Code Pink, the anti-military organization that has provided aid and comfort to America’s enemies. Brown is scheduled to attend a fundraiser at the home of Jodie Evans, founder of Code Pink, according to Move America Forward.

As was Barack Obama, in her younger days Jodie Evans was a community, social and political organizer. From 1973 to 1982, she served in administrative capacities in all of Jerry Brown’s campaigns and, when he was elected governor, on his staff and cabinet as Director of Administration.

Free Gaza sponsored a flotilla that engaged in deadly clashes with Israeli special forces troops and among Free Gaza’s members are Weather Underground terrorist founders William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn as well as Jodie Evans.

Unless Brown cancels the fundraiser, MAF will be organizing a protest against this event, according to a statement released on Thursday evening.
Brown was elected Governor in 1974 and reelected in 1978, by over one million votes, but lost the following election to Republican Pete Wilson.

During Governor Brown’s tenure, he enacted liberal-left policies in California. For example, he established the first agricultural labor relations law in the country, enacted collective bargaining for teachers and other public employees, and signed into permanent law the California Coastal Protection Act.

Brown defeated Bill Clinton in Maine, Colorado, Vermont, Connecticut, Utah and Nevada during the 1992 Presidential primaries and was the only candidate other than Clinton to receive enough voter support to continue until the Democratic National Convention. Not surprisingly, Brown ran to the left of Clinton.

“On Saturday, Aug 21st, we will rally our members to protest outside the home of Code Pink’s founding member Jodie Evans, who bankrolls the group’s activities. We will call on Jerry Brown to renounce his appearance with Code Pink out of respect for the military families he professes to care about.  Not only should be cancel the fundraiser, with tickets as high as $25,000 per person, but he should also return any contributions received,” according to MAF.

“We at Move America Forward are disgusted and outraged by the news of the fundraising event.  Jodie Evans and her organization have betrayed their country and spit in the face of the men and women who serve honorably in our military.  For Jerry Brown to link arms with such a despicable group is a direct insult to military personnel,” said the organization’s press office.

Move America Forward has a storied history of engaging directly with Code Pink, and opposing their anti-American activities. As an organization dedicated to supporting the troops, it is the organization’s duty to defend their honor domestically while they protect Americans abroad.

“We will not allow the anti-military activities of Code Pink to go unchallenged, and it is a grave mistake for Jerry Brown to associate with a group that has openly supported our nation’s enemies,” said MAF’s communications director Danny Gonzalez.

A national survey reveals that a substantial and growing number of Americans say that Barack Obama is a Muslim, while the proportion saying he is a Christian has declined. More than a year and a half into his presidency, a plurality of the public says they do not know what religion Obama follows, according to the Pew Research Center.

According to the survey, nearly one-in-five Americans (18%) now say Obama is a Muslim — an increase from 11% in March 2009. Only about one-third of adults (34%) say Obama is a Christian, a sharp decrease from 48% in 2009.

Fully 43% say they do not know what Obama’s religion is. The survey was completed in early August, before Obama’s recent comments about the proposed construction of a mosque near the site of the former World Trade Center.

The belief that Obama is a Muslim has increased most sharply among Republicans (up 14 points since 2009), especially conservative Republicans (up 16 points). But the number of independents who say Obama is a Muslim has also increased significantly (up eight points). There has been little change in the number of Democrats who say Obama is a Muslim, but fewer Democrats today say he is a Christian (down nine points since 2009).

The new poll, conducted between July 21 and Aug. 5 among 3,003 respondents, also examines the link between Americans’ perception of Obama’s religion and their opinion of his job performance, and covers views on the President’s approach to religion, including the influence of his religious beliefs on policy decisions. In addition, the survey explores Americans’ attitudes toward churches’ involvement in politics and religion’s influence on American life and government, and looks at religion’s impact on voting preferences for the upcoming 2010 congressional races.

Part of Obama’s problem stems from the perception that he is pro-Muslim when it comes to U.S.-Israeli relations.

For example, during the Free Gaza sponsored flotilla that engaged in deadly clashes with Israeli special forces troops and among its members Weather Underground terrorist founders William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn as well as Jodie Evans, the leader of the radical activist organization Code Pink and an associate of the Jerry Brown-for Governor campaign in California. Ayers and Dohrn were close associates for years in Chicago with President Obama, while Evans was a fundraiser and financial bundler for Obama’s presidential campaign. In fact, one of Obama’s fundraisers was held in the home of Ayers and Dohrn.

“Ayers’ and Dohrn’s continued activities appear to elude the attention of the people responsible for reporting the news without bias. They are terrorists, plain and simple, so why would anyone be surprised to discover their connection to an anti-Semitic organization that supports terror groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah and al-Qaeda?” asks former New York Police detective Michael Snopes.

Obama is Leading Us into Civil War

    By Roger Fredinburg

Is Obama pushing us towards a civil war?

If I told you I was getting so angry at all the stupid stuff going on around me, in fact so mad that I wanted to rip peoples heads off, squeeze the last breath out of their dying carcass, tear off their limbs and feed them to my dogs, many of you would relate to the emotional tug and applaud my desire to slap the morons silly.

Regardless of your position in the Left-Right paradigm, both sides of the great American debate are ready to kill each other.

President Obama and the way out lefty loonies have pushed too hard and too fast for us to arrive at a peaceful ending.

Republicans have run the hypocrites race and won.

The Bush team had both houses of Congress and the White House and they shrunk from the call.

I personally want them all arrested, tried, hung and cremated, hopefully on a new TV reality show.

We could call it “Paybacks are Hell” or something like that.

Imagine the viewership… All revenues ad would go to pay back the debt.

After quick but fair trials, convictions, and executions, all of the stolen wealth from the lying political hypocrites could be raffled off and that money could go to pay back some of the debt they ran up.

Maybe that would help us salvage a future for our children and coming generations of Americans.

Their personal belongings could be auctioned off on an internet site and raffle tickets sold for their more esteemed possessions like Boats, Cars, Real Estate and private Dominican Villas.

Those ticket sales might turn a handsome sum in a global raffle.

We could sell their surviving family members into slavery in the Sudan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, China or someplace where they could fulfill the promises made to their foreign pals for loans and favors.

Let the family members of the discontinued scoundrel class use their backs to pay off the debts these morons ran up.

They had no problem putting our children into eternal bondage, why should their gene pool suffer any less reward.

Their rightful inheritance should be that they help pay off the debts those crooked congressional family members ran up for America.

In Arizona, where I predict the next shot heard around the world will be fired, the Feds have gone and created a quagmire far more dangerous than the idiotic Iraq invasion. (We were attacked by Saudi Arabian terrorists)

The Governors, multiple county Sheriffs, the good people of Arizona and other border folks must be at the ready to become vigilantes if required to save their communities from the onslaught of invasion.

The Federal government has gotten to be so stupid and has overreached and encroached on our lives to the point where we are literally at war with our own leaders.

I still can’t wrap my head around the notion that a sitting President of the United States of America has sided with Mexican drug cartels against his own people, he is under oath to protect Americans from this very thing.

In the oath all public employees take, they swear to defend the country against all enemies, including “domestic enemies”.

If President Obama and the self serving political class in America today aren’t our domestic enemies, then I would sure hate to think about who a real domestic enemy might be.

We may try to ignore the reality because it’s too hard to swallow, but the fact is, at some point, the divide is so wide that the only answer is mass protest that I predict will eventually lead to a violent resolution, or possibly the term revolution is more appropriate.

If we don’t have the right to self defense and self preservation, then we have no rights at all.

To quote Alan Keyes in a recent article:

“The Constitution forbids the states to act without federal authorization “unless actually invaded, or in such imminent danger as will not admit of delay” (Article I, Section 10). Surely, if the a state may, without federal authorization, go to war to protect its citizens from the imminent danger arising from foreign invasion of one type, it may, authorized by the letter and spirit of existing federal law, act to protect its citizens from the actual damage being inflicted upon them by an ongoing foreign invasion of another type”.

I know I will be called a radical and a vigilante for writing this.

A vigilante is someone who illegally punishes someone for actual or perceived offenses, or participates in a group which metes out extralegal punishment to such a person. Often the victims are criminals in the legal sense.

“Vigilante justice” is sometimes spurred on by the perception that criminal punishment is either nonexistent or insufficient for the crime.

Some people see their governments as ineffective in enforcing the law; thus, such individuals fulfill the like-minded wishes of the community.

Persons seen as “escaping from the law” or “above the law” are sometimes the targets of vigilantism.

Governmental corruption is the prime target of vigilante freedom fighters.

Whatever the case, I am calling for an uprising amongst the few remaining patriotic America loving folks out there, especially in our border states, where invasion is a daily threat.

    Rise up! And don’t delay.

We need to cast out the political demons across this great land and return to the values of our founders.

I call for a mass political exorcism now! Let us pray…

The continued attempts at civility in this country are as futile as the rules of engagement were in Viet Nam.

If we keep taking fire without shooting back, then we will suffer a national death without honor.

Do the honorable thing, do what you know must be done.

Unload the weapons of rebuke this November and throw all the bums out.

    Please!

“President Barack Obama’s Defense Department is providing these killers, thugs and extremists with perks not enjoyed by most American citizens. Free health and dental care? Job training and education? All the comforts of home including conjugal visits? Not a bad deal for these terrorists and murderers,” said former Det. Mike Snopes of the NYPD.

While there are millions of people starving to death or living in extreme poverty throughout the world, the Obama administration is now bestowing a quasi-welfare program on terrorists, murderers and America-haters in Afghanistan.

“We now provide each detainee with humane care, custody, medical and dental facilities, on-site family visitation, vocational and educational training,” said Vice Admiral Robert Harward, the commander of Joint Task Force 435 in Afghanistan.

“We maintain the legitimacy of detention as a warfighting tool, and this requires that we demonstrate our commitment to transparency, the rule of law, and to individual human dignity,” he said during a Defense Department-Bloggers Roundtable for Internet journalists and bloggers.

This joint task force in Afghanistan is working hard to make sure detention operations are in order, said  Christen N. McCluney, who works in the Defense Media Activity’s emerging media directorate.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates established the task force in September to oversee detainee review processes, programs for the peaceful reintegration of detainees into society, and coordination with other agencies and partners for the promotion of the rule of law in Afghanistan, said McCluney.

The task force has initiated a one-year plan to transition U.S. detention operations through the Afghan ministry of defense to the Afghan government, Harward said. This, he explained, will leave the door open for further transition to the Afghan justice ministry in the future.

But not everyone is enthusiastic about this new “touchy-feely” approach to incarcerating men and women captured on the battlefield or involved in terrorist bombings and other attacks.

“The inmates at Rikers [Island detention center in New York] should have it so good,” he said.

Meanwhile, Admiral Harward said proper treatment of detainees remains a top priority. In addition, he said, the task force intends to provide detainees with skills that will give them viable options other than returning to the insurgency once they return to society.

A detention facility that can hold up to 1,050 people has opened in Parwan province, and Afghan government officials signed a memorandum of understanding on January 9 that will guide the process for the defense ministry to take the lead on assuming responsibility for the newly completed facility, according to McCluney.

“Once an individual is detained,” he added, “not only are we notified, but the government of Afghanistan is as well, so that there is a partnership and there is equal responsibility,” said the admiral.

Harward also discussed reintegration programs that provide detainees with training, literacy skills and some trades. The task force involves its Afghan partners in that process to create a sense of accountability, he said, not only from the partners who will run the detention facility but also from local leaders who agree to accept these individuals back into their tribes and villages.

But critics believe these terrorist and their associates may use the skills taught to them to enhance their warfighting capabilities.

“These are anti-American zealots not juvenile delinquents in a U.S. city being sent to reform school,” said Snopes.

As he strives to grant illegal immigrants in the U.S. amnesty, President Barack Obama’s administration has ordered immigration enforcement officials to cease deportation of a large category of illegal aliens while lawmakers craft legislation to officially spare them from expulsion.

The Homeland Security agency responsible for protecting the border and deporting unauthorized foreigners (Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE) has halted the removal of illegal immigrants who are students, according to a Washington, DC-based legal group.

The move, which will spare some 700,000 illegal aliens, is a response to nationwide rallies and demonstrations by defiant illegal immigrants protesting their eminent removal or that of their illegal parents, according to officials at Judicial Watch.

News of this outrageous plan comes days after a separate Judicial Watch report revealed that the administration is secretly working behind the scenes to grant millions of illegal aliens amnesty in case Congress doesn’t pass sweeping legislation to do it.

On the heels of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents’ 258-0 “vote of no confidence”  against their superiors, U.S. Border Patrol agents are slamming President Barack Obama’s administration especially Attorney General Eric Holder.

“We are receiving reports… that Eric Holder and DOJ have signaled that they [will continue to] challenge SB1070. If this development wasn’t so sad, it would be funny,” according to the membership of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2544, which represents U.S. Border Patrol agents in Tucson, Arizona.

While lamenting the disinterest in the Obama Administration for border security and immigration enforcement, Local 2544 officials said in a statement,”Now, [Attorney General Eric] Holder and DOJ [Department of Justice] apparently have found resources to challenge SB1070. This is an obvious political ploy, and Americans should be outraged [that] they actually go after a state for trying to do something about the out-of-control illegal immigration mess.”

“How many times have Americans heard lawmakers, mayors, governors, and immigration advocates when asked about Arizona enforcing immigration law, claim that their police officers aren’t authorized or trained to enforce immigration laws?” asks a career law enforcement officer from New York.

“Well, either these government leaders are too ignorant to to hold office or they’re out-and-out lying to the American people,” said former NYPD detective Sid Franes.

The Immigration and Nationality Act includes section 287(g), added in 1996, that grants local and state jurisdictions the ability to enforce immigration law with proper training and supervision by federal authorities. In 2003, Alabama became the second state in the nation to participate in the program by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Department of Homeland Security. Florida was the first state to participate, in 2002, and later Arizona’s Sheriff Joe Arpaio sent his deputies for training.

While many politicians claim their police officers are not allowed to enforce immigration laws, their excuse for ignoring illegal aliens is a canard. Too few police agencies are taking advantage of the training offered by ICE and DHS.

“Partnerships with our state and local law enforcement colleagues have always been essential to our fight against illegal immigration,” said Paul Kilcoyne, Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s deputy director for investigations.

“This innovative and cooperative effort allows our state troopers to become force multipliers for America’s border security mission. We always welcome those who enter our country legally, but we won’t stand idly by and do nothing when we catch illegal aliens, some who have committed crimes like armed robbery, rape and drug smuggling, in our state,” he said.

The 287(g) program, one of ICE’s top partnership initiatives, allows a state and local law enforcement entity to enter into a partnership with ICE, under a joint Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), in order to receive delegated authority for immigration enforcement within their jurisdictions. The 287(g) program has emerged as one of the agency’s most successful and popular partnership initiatives as more state and local leaders have come to understand how a shared approach to immigration enforcement can benefit their communities.

The 287(g) program has emerged as one of the Agency’s most successful and popular partnership initiatives as more state and local leaders have come to understand how a shared approach to immigration enforcement can benefit their communities.

The 287(g) program is one component of the ICE ACCESS (Agreements of Cooperation in Communities to Enhance Safety and Security) program, which provides local law enforcement agencies an opportunity to team with ICE to combat specific challenges in their communities.

ICE developed the ACCESS program in response to the widespread interest from local law enforcement agencies who have requested ICE assistance through the 287(g) program, which trains local officers to enforce immigration law as authorized through section 287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Terrorism and criminal activity are most effectively combated through a multi-agency/multi-authority approach that encompasses federal, state and local resources, skills and expertise. State and local law enforcement play a critical role in protecting our homeland because they are often the first responders on the scene when there is an incident or attack against the United States. During the course of daily duties, they will often encounter foreign-born criminals and immigration violators who pose a threat to national security or public safety.

The cross-designation between ICE and state and local patrol officers, detectives, investigators and correctional officers allows these local and state officers necessary resources and latitude to pursue investigations relating to violent crimes, human smuggling, gang/organized crime activity, sexual-related offenses, narcotics smuggling and money laundering. In addition, participating entities are eligible for increased resources and support in more remote geographical locations.

This came to me in an e-mail today. Since we are encouraging people to think and be properly informed when they vote, I decided to post it here. This is basic math. DO NOT be fooled by all the rhetoric comming from the Democrats, they are pushing spending to levels never seen before. This year they chose to not pass a budget at all. COngress is the problem, thankfully one that we ca fix in November.

This is from a person, before retirement, was the President of the

State Banking System of Ohio.  This is a great lesson to understand

as we enter the fall elections.  Politicians on both sides have a way

of making things sound good, and even though true, are very

misleading.  Progressives are killing this country, and we need to

change course, but let’s make sure we are dealing with a full deck.

Don’t believe everything you hear.  Check it out before making up

your mind.  We will be deciding this country’s financial future.

The Washington Post babbled again today about

Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush. Amazingly

enough, a lot of people swallow this nonsense. So once

    more, a short civics lesson.

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come

from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress

since January 2007 is the Democrat Party. They

controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009,

as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they

had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to

compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat

belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid

bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing

resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a

massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009

    budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He

was a member of that very Congress that passed all of

these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus

bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let’s remember

what the deficits looked like during that period:

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY

2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets.  That

deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth

straight decline in deficit spending. After that,

Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and

that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the

budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited

    it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a

deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand

that deficit four-fold since January 20th.
There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference.

    Islam is a Terrorist Organization-Not a Religion

    By Roger Fredinburg

Try to imagine an organized criminal syndicate that has the primary goal of overthrowing all existing organized governments by force.

A group that adheres to hyper-machismos as defined in Webster’s …

(1: a strong sense of masculine pride: an exaggerated masculinity
(2: an exaggerated or exhilarating sense of power or strength

They are Misogynists, anti-Semitic and anti-Christian at their core.

They are charged with a religious commandment to kill the women in their families if they somehow bring embarrassment or shame through such egregious and heinous acts as being the victims of gang rape.

Daughters and wives of Muslim men have no rights, no freedom, and are treated worse than the family goat.

Their standard teaching has them associating anyone who disapproves of their psychotic beliefs and dangerous rhetoric as infidels and it requires they be hunted down and killed.

They are polygamists and fornicators who believe in a place called Paradise where they preach that Gods ultimate pay-out for killing innocent people who disagree with them is an eternal pleasure ride with 72 perpetual virgins. (A Fleshly desire- not heavenly).

I am not sure how many times they can be de-flowered in paradise and maintain their virgin status, but hey, in this sick Muslim fantasy it seems virginity is restored after each bout of intercourse.

Which I think exemplifies the shear stupidity of the pseudo-religions ultimate climax.

In America we “tolerate” some bizarre religious notions because our founders so painstakingly sought to protect religious freedom.

But, the question really should be: Is Islam really a religion?

I suggest that any organized group with violence as their primary recruiting tool might be considered something other than a religious entity.

Imagine being told by a follower of Jesus that if you don’t show up at the church and submit on Sunday you will be found, shot, beheaded or blown to smithereens.

Or not that the Christian tells you that, but what if it was inferred without actual comment.

In America, and I suppose internationally, political and media folks shy away from any negative comments or opinions about these lunatics we call Muslims out of fear.

These Muslim crackpots threaten everyone with what is called a Fatwa. In the American vernacular, that means they put out a hit on a person they dislike to be killed.

An example of how this effects news cycles is best observed at FOX News where the Muslims own a percentage of the network.

Fox News is partially owned by Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

You will not hear any news on Fox that is honest and forthcoming about the violent and deceptive aspects of Islam.

More importantly, nobody in the news world or in the American political machine will tell the truth about this evil force of Muslim driven global terror because they are fearful of becoming a target.

I want you to challenge yourself to think of any religion other that this pseudo-global government theocracy called Islam where people are fearful of dying for opposing it.

I am calling out to Americans everywhere to pull your heads out of the deep dark crevice of Politically correct stupidity and join me in renouncing Islam as a criminal conspiracy, a global crime syndicate disguised as a religion.

Islam must be outlawed and its followers must be de-programmed and saved from the cultish and ridiculous lies that they have been duped into believing, mostly that Islam is a religion, its not.

We must make illegal, any “religion” that promotes overthrowing our Republic and that champions violence of any kind against people for simply disagreeing.

Sorry you crazed Muslim loonies, but murder is not a Godly endeavor by any standard. And forcing people to accept your “religion” with death threats is extortion and you should all be rounded up and shipped off to GITMO just for being vicious morons.

Please America, start a clamor to throw these fascist Islamo-bums out, not just the congressional bums, but the Muslims too. All Muslims believe in the Korans teachings, “death to the infidels”.

In reality, it is they who are the true infidels, and American values demand we toss them out, and do it quickly before these nuts get any bolder.

Long live America, a Christian based republic! (By the way, regardless of what public schools might be teaching these days, there were no Muslims on the Mayflower).

What is being viewed by many as an effort to stem the tide of citizen complaints about President Barack Obama’s attacks on Arizona and its immigration enforcement efforts, the Department of Homeland Security is reporting the largest enforcement surge operation of its kind ever carried out in Arizona.

More than 60 convicted criminal aliens and immigration fugitives have been arrested following a three-day targeted enforcement operation in Arizona, according to Homeland Security Department officials.

During the operation, which concluded last Wednesday night, Immigration & Customs Enforcement officers located and arrested 55 aliens with prior criminal convictions. In addition, 16 of the individuals ICE officers took into custody were immigration fugitives, aliens with outstanding orders of deportation who had failed to leave the country. Of those arrested during the enforcement action, at least 25 had already been removed from the United States.

At a news conference in Arizona Thursday, ICE Director John Morton announced the results of the enforcement action, which involved more than 60 ICE agents and officers, as well as personnel from the U.S. Marshals Service. Those officers fanned out across the state making arrests in Phoenix, Tucson, Sedona , Mesa, Tempe and Prescott.

“These are not people we want to see walking the streets here in Phoenix or in any other community in Arizona,” said ICE Director John Morton. “Those who come to the United States to prey upon communities in Arizona will be prosecuted for their crimes and ultimately returned to their home countries. The results of this operation demonstrate ICE’s commitment to that principle.”

Morton was recently the recipient of a “vote of no confidence” from the union representing his ICE agents and officers. In a letter, the members of ICE complained about the politically-motivated actions of their superiors and Morton’s desire to offer amnesty to illegal aliens.

Because of their serious criminal histories and prior immigration arrest records, at least 12 of those arrested during the enforcement surge have been presented for federal prosecution for reentering the country illegally after a formal deportation. A conviction for felony re-entry carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

“We are dedicated to bringing criminals to justice all along the southwest border, and in particular we will aggressively prosecute offenders with violent criminal convictions and who pose a threat to our communities,” said Dennis Burke, U. S. Attorney for the District of Arizona.

“We are pleased to stand together with our partners in Homeland Security and the Marshals Service and our state partners in the Offices of Probation and Parole to secure the southwest border through targeted enforcement strategies like today’s action,” he said.

Among the arrestees is a 45-year-old Mexican woman who was convicted in California for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, a scheme that netted her and her conspirators more than $820,000.

Also arrested was a 55-year-old Mexican man who was convicted of selling methamphetamine in 2003. This individual has already been convicted once of felony reentry into the United States in 2009, and following this arrest he will be prosecuted again in federal court.

The foreign nationals detained during the operation who are not being criminally prosecuted will be processed administratively for removal from the United States. Those who have outstanding orders of deportation, or who returned to the United States illegally after being deported, are subject to immediate removal from the country. The remaining aliens are in ICE custody awaiting a hearing before an immigration judge, or pending travel arrangements for removal in the near future.

Of those arrested, 52 were male and 11 were female. They represent 9 different nations, including countries in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.

This week’s special enforcement action was spearheaded by ICE’s Fugitive Operations Program, which is responsible for locating, arresting and removing at large criminal aliens and immigration fugitives — aliens who have ignored final orders of deportation handed down by the nation’s immigration courts.

The officers who conducted this week’s operation received substantial assistance from ICE’s Fugitive Operations Support Center (FOSC) located in South Burlington, Vermont. The FOSC conducted exhaustive database checks on the targeted cases to help ensure the viability of the leads and accuracy of the criminal histories.

The FOSC was established in 2006 to improve the integrity of the data available on at large criminal aliens and immigration fugitives nationwide. Since its inception, the FOSC has forwarded more than 550,000 case leads to ICE enforcement personnel in the field. In addition, leads were developed through the assistance of the Arizona Supreme Court Adult Probation Division, according to officials.

Monday, August 16th, 2010 by Glenn Smith Jr

I recently came across this article and decided to re-post it. I believe that it is timely and helpful in today’s upsidedown world.

     Glenn.

    There’s No Complaining in Faith

Recently I delivered a message that I titled “Now What?”.  I was asked to speak at a Christian businessmen’s breakfast and I wanted to give a talk on the value of supporting the local economy. As I was preparing for this, I felt God lead me another way. Many of the men who attend this meeting are currently experiencing difficulties in their businesses so giving them a speech on something so vague seemed a little shallow. Since my goal was to try to bring some realm of encouragement, I started to look to the Bible for a different direction.

James 3:2-12 gives a insightful description of the power of the tongue, vs 6: “the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell”. This led me to a study of the negative aspects of complaining.  Today complaining  has almost become a sport. Everywhere you turn someone has an opinion about how bad things are yet they seldom have a solution to offer. The general media makes a living continuously rolling out a steady stream of bad news. Where is the hope? Will we find it with our politicians? How about our families? Myself, I have chosen to follow the promises of God as found in the Bible.

First of all, God doesn’t like complaining. Numbers 11:1 records this: “Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD; for the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the LORD burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp”. God, in this passage, displayed a very bad attitude toward the complainers. In chapter 13 we see the account of the twelve spies sent to look at the promised land and report back to Moses what they found. Ten of the spies had a bad report, even though they saw a great bounty for the taking. They were to concerned about how difficult it might be to take the land, even though God had promised it to them. Two of the spies had a different report. They were convinced that God was well able to do what they were promised He would do. These two displayed a tremendous faith in God while the other ten showed a serious lack of faith. As a result of the majority report, the people rejected the good report and started to complain bitterly to Moses. This brought a decidedly negative response from God. The Israelites, who had journeyed a mere 2-3 weeks to get to where they were, now would be told that their trip was being extended by 40 more years.  Imagine for a moment being within sight of your destination, the very land promised to you by God, and then being told you can’t go in because of your complaining. This is exactly what happened. I find it also to be ironic that the chapter numbers here are 11 and 13 since the resulting actions literally bankrupted the future of that generation of people.

As Christians, we are faced daily with choices of which report to adhere to. Do we trust the news media and its pundants and experts, or do we trust God? When we engage in a complaining mode, we are moving into the realm of the negative world report. As we do this, we are displaying a serious lack of faith in God’s promise to us. We are setting ourselves up to fail. I am convinced that what is needed today is to speak words of faith and encouragement to the people around us. In my business travels, I am seeing a pattern develop. The people who are speaking of hope and possibility are showing growth and success while the ones going negative are showing signs of weakness and failure. We must not fall into the world’s trap. In order to work faith in an uncertain time, we must first speak faith. Remember the power of the tongue.

Jesus call on us to be overcomers in this age. Only by faith can we accomplish this. In order to truly have that God pleasing faith, we must not be complainers.

The passage by Congress of the $600 million Border Security Appropriations Bill not only benefits the Homeland Security Department’s Border Patrol efforts, it also provides $196 million for the Department of Justice to surge federal law enforcement efforts in high crime areas in the Southwest Border region, according to a report obtained by the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

These assets are critical to bringing additional capabilities to crack down on transnational criminal organizations and reduce the illicit trafficking of people, drugs, currency, and weapons, said Justice Department officials in a press statement.

“This bill will help strengthen the Department of Justice’s historic security efforts on the Southwest Border. Over the past 18 months, this Administration and this Department have dedicated unprecedented personnel, technology, and resources to the border, with unprecedented results, and we will continue to focus our efforts on disrupting criminal organizations and the networks they exploit,” said Acting Deputy Attorney General Grindler.

The portion of the bill funding Justice Department agencies will allow for more than 400 new positions and the temporary deployment of up to 220 personnel along the border as part of what the Justice Department terms “its broader Southwest Border Strategy.” This includes:

    * ATF Project Gunrunner Teams: Establishment of seven ATF Project Gunrunner teams comprised of special agents and industry operations investigators to target firearms trafficking along the Southwest Border;

    * Target Drug Enforcement Efforts at the Cartels: Enhancing and increasing intelligence operations against drug cartels as well as adding 50 new positions in Southwest Border offices;

    * FBI Hybrid Squads: Creation of five additional Hybrid Squads on the Southwest Border dedicated to combating the violent crime threat along the border and expanding intelligence collection efforts;

    * Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF): Increased funding for the Southwest Border region including its seven OCDETF Strike Forces in the area to support investigations and prosecutions of high level Mexican drug cartels;

    * U.S. Attorneys: Deployment of more than 30 prosecutors in targeted locations to provide additional prosecutorial resources dedicated to combating Southwest Border firearm and drug trafficking, and bulk cash smuggling;

    * Criminal Division: Creation of 26 positions to review wiretap requests, along with mutual legal assistance treaty (MLAT) and extradition requests as well as to provide additional support for the investigation and prosecution of transnational gangs, firearms, and drug traffickers, and money launderers operating along the Southwest Border;

    * USMS International Investigations: Deployment of more than 20 Deputy U.S. Marshals to support its international investigations, including establish offices in Mexico to address cross-border investigations and enhance USMS presence at El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC) to facilitate more intelligence-driving investigations;

    * Immigration Litigation: Increased funding for Immigration Judge Teams to expedite the adjudication of removal proceedings involving criminal aliens;

    * Prisons and Detention: Increased funding for contract beds and USMS personnel to accommodate prisoner levels; and

    * Training for Mexican law enforcement: Additional funding to support Mexican law enforcement operations with ballistic analysis, DNA analysis, information sharing, technical capabilities, and assistance.

The Southwest Border Strategy uses federal prosecutor-led task forces that bring together all law enforcement components to identify, disrupt, and dismantle the Mexican drug cartels through investigation, prosecution, and extradition of their key leaders and facilitators, and seizure and forfeiture of their assets, said officials.

The Department of Justice is increasing its focus on investigations and prosecutions of the southbound smuggling of guns and cash that fuel the violence and corruption and attacking the cartels in Mexico itself, in partnership with the Procuraduría General de la República (PGR) and the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), according to U.S. officials

As the largest law enforcement presence in Mexico with offices throughout, and a decades-long history of working with the Mexican government, the DEA has a strategic vantage point from which to assess the drug trafficking situation in Mexico, the related violence, its causes and its historical context.

Currently, DEA has nearly 29 percent of its domestic agent positions dedicated to combating drug trafficking organizations in the Southwest Border region. Project Deliverance, announced in June 2010, led to the arrest of more than 2,200 individuals on narcotics-related charges in the United States and the seizure of more than 74.1 tons of illegal drugs as part of a 22-month multi-agency law enforcement investigation.

In addition to the five new Hybrid Squads, the FBI is continuing to operate its National Border Corruption Task Force, with representatives from the FBI, Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General, U.S. Customs and Border Protection – Internal Affairs and TSA to guide and oversee border corruption programs across the country.

The U.S. Marshals Service has stepped-up its efforts along the Southwest border, deploying 94 additional Deputy U.S. Marshals and sending four additional deputies to Mexico City to assist the Marshals Service Mexico City Foreign Field Office in FY 2009, according to officials.

In addition to increased resources and funding, the Department of Justice is expected to continue supporting Mexican law enforcement through training programs. The Criminal Division’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development Assistance and Training (OPDAT) and others are providing real time hands-on training through seminars for investigators and prosecutors in Mexico on the investigation and prosecution of complex cases, as Mexico transitions to an adversarial system, according to DoJ officials.

While the focus of Democrat Congressman Charles Rangel’s ethics charges center on doing legislative favors for donors and failing to pay taxes, his most troubling lapse — enriching a foreign liquor company with billions of U.S. tax dollars — continues to be largely ignored, according to a non-partisan watchdog group.

A national survey of 1,019 Americans reveals that a clear majority of members of all political parties reported that Rep. Charles Rangel of  New York is guilty of the ethics charges brought against him by the House ethics committee.

The study which was conducted among self-reported Democrats, Republicans and Independents during July 29-30 by HCD Research revealed that the majority believe that Rangel is guilty, including 67% of Democrats, 87% of Republicans and 86% of Independents.

The House Ethics Committee’s recent charges against the veteran Democratic congressman from Harlem fail to mention his most serious transgression, one that will end up costing U.S. taxpayers about $6 billion, according to Judicial Watch, a Washington, DC public-interest group.

Rangel helped mastermind a shady deal that gives London-based conglomerate Diageo billions of tax dollars to relocate from one unincorporated American territory (Puerto Rico) in the Caribbean to another (Virgin Islands) for no apparent reason, according to attorneys at Judicial Watch.

“Uncle Sam will give the European booze maker nearly $3 billion in tax credits and benefits, help it build a new $165 million state-of-the-art rum distillery, allow it to take half of the Virgin Islands’ rum-tax money, a 90 percent income-tax break and a property tax exemption,” said Judicial Watch officials in a statement.

Rangel’s move will drastically boost Diageo’s already lucrative profits – and cheat the U.S. government out of much-needed tax revenue — because it will slash in half the amount of taxes the liquor company currently pays for each gallon of rum. For years the rum has been produced in Puerto Rico, where a law caps the amount of tax rebate that can be kicked back to manufacturers. The Virgin Islands have no such rule, making it a far more profitable place to do business.

When lawmakers got wind of Diageo’s new accord, many led an effort to pass legislation limiting the amount of rum tax money that can go to corporations since the funds go back into the community to pay for things like schools and environmental preservation. Rangel, who at the time chaired the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, blocked the measure thereby preserving the unscrupulous Diageo deal.

Essentially, Rangel diverted money from U.S. schools into tax breaks for a liquor conglomerate, according to Judicial Watch. Meanwhile, the Virgin Islands governor who helped broker the deal is also facing a litany of ethics charges for misappropriating federal funds.

“This is not to say that Rangel’s other corrupt acts aren’t relevant. After all, the 20-term congressman is under investigation for tax evasion, using his office to raise money from corporations with business before him, illegally accepting multiple rent control apartments in his New York district and hiding more than $1 million in assets,” claims Judicial Watch officials.

Rangel’s alleged corruption, which President Barack Obama recently called “very troubling,” got him booted as Ways and Means committee chair and inspired the commander-in-chief to hint at resignation for the sake of leaving public office with “dignity.”  Others believe the Democrats wish him out of the picture before facing a tough election cycle.

A federal jury in U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii on Friday found Noshir S. Gowadia, age 66, of Maui, guilty of five criminal offenses relating to his design for the People’s Republic of China (PRC) of a low signature cruise missile exhaust system capable of rendering a PRC cruise missile resistant to detection by infrared missiles. The verdict followed six days of deliberation and a 40-day trial in the District of Hawaii.

The jury also convicted Gowadia of illegally communicating classified information on three other occasions and unlawfully exporting technical information on those three occasions, illegally retaining defense information, and filing false tax returns for the years 2001 and 2002, according to a government report obtained by the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

“Mr. Gowadia provided some of our country’s most sensitive weapons-related designs to the Chinese government for money. Today, he is being held accountable for his actions. This prosecution should serve as a warning to others who would compromise our nation’s military secrets for profit. I commend the many prosecutors, analysts, and agents—including those from the FBI and the Air Force—who were responsible for this investigation and prosecution,” said Assistant Attorney General David Kris.

“This case is a superb example of interagency cooperation with one single goal in mind: to protect Americans from harm. The successful prosecution of Mr. Gowadia for espionage and other crimes highlights the many contributions of AFOSI personnel and our partner organizations worldwide,” said Colonel Keith Givens, Vice Commander, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

Gowadia was first arrested in October 2005 on a criminal complaint alleging that he willfully communicated national defense information to a person not entitled to receive it. He was charged with additional violations in a 2005 indictment, a 2006 superseding indictment and a 2007 second superseding indictment.
