The offensiveness of illegal aliens.

The Society of Professional Journalists…now there’s an oxymoronic term for our time – only the fact they’re paid for what passes for reporting these days indicates any professionalism that I can see…has decided for reasons only known to them that the term ‘illegal alien’ should not be used to describe, well, illegal aliens.
The Society of Professional Journalists have decided the term ‘illegal alien’ is offensive and illegal aliens should not be described this way and in a never-ending effort to be good little propagandists for the exalted one – Barack Hussein Obama – the Society is instructing professional journalists not to use the term illegal alien to describe illegal aliens.
If these journalists think use of the term illegal alien is offensive, they can’t imagine how offended most Americans are by the presence of illegal aliens in our country.

Contrary to many references in recent days, there has been no official SPJ or SPJ Committee initiative on this topic. One of SPJ’s members wrote a blog posting and an article expressing his personal opinion and reporting discussion within the committee on this topic. However, the committee did not reach any consensus, nor has the Society of Professional Journalists. Please don’t mistake the urging of a conversation for any official position on this issue.
