U.S. Congressman Peter King (R-NY) yesterday informed all parties concerned that there would be a second House Homeland Security Committee hearing on the subject of radicalization within the American-Muslim community.

This latest hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, and its main topic will be the Muslim population incarcerated in prisons throughout the country.

“We have seen cases in which inmates have been radicalized at the hands of already locked-up terrorists or by extremist imam chaplains,” said Chairman King in a statement.

“We will focus on a number of the serious cases in which radicalized current and former inmates have planned and launched attacks or attempted to join overseas Islamic terrorist organizations.”

King’s first hearing in March caused many within the Muslim community to condemn the subject of radicalization, and almost half of the Democrats in the House urged him to cancel it.

“While there have been extremist groups and random acts of political violence throughout our history, the al Qaeda attacks of 9/11 and the ongoing threat to our nation from Islamic jihad were uniquely diabolical and threatening to America’s security, both overseas and in our homeland,” said King last March.

Osama bin Laden is experiencing one of death’s disadvantages: his dirty laundry is being exposed especially his penchant for viewing pornography. Among the items recovered from his hideout in Pakistan, the Navy SEALs confiscated a “stash” of pornographic material.

While not much is known about bin Laden’s sexual proclivities, the discovery of pornographic material shouldn’t shock most Americans since radical Muslims also share a penchant for hypocrisy when it comes to deviant sexual behavior.

As reported earlier this year by the Law Enforcement Examiner, one issue that’s avoided is the widespread sexual intercourse between Afghan Taliban men and young boys. In non- diplomatic terms, Afghanistan is a haven for child rape.

In a religion some consider overly repressive due to its adherence to the precepts contained in the Koran, it’s difficult for American servicemembers and diplomats to understand the fact that a large portion of the Afghan male population are pedophiles (adults who enjoy sexual contact with prepubescent children) or pederasts (adults who enjoy sexual relations with pubescent or post-pubescent children).

While Muslims in Iraq have on several occasions stoned homosexuals for their sexual activities, not all Muslims believe pedophilia is a violation of Shariah law. Those who believe in the sacredness and infallibility of the Koran adhere to the teaching that women are sub-human and quasi-slaves, and therefore Muslim men will look for relationships — even sexual relationships — with others of their own gender.

According to Reuters, there is a lot of homosexuality going on in Afghanistan, but those engaging in it don’t think of themselves as gay, so that makes it okay since Islam officially disapproves of the gay and lesbian lifestyle.

Should we make Washington D.C. America’s Holy City?

I believe that American Christians can make a huge difference in the direction of our nation if we would simply make Washington D.C. the most popular vacation destination in our country. The big difference is, we will not go there to soak up the sun, throw the dice or take a ride in a spinning tea cup. We will go there to pray.

If Christians deeply understood their shared roots of heritage in D.C. and all the mysteries of how the Christian faith shaped our fathers and the foundation of our nation, there would be an exodus to this city like you have never seen. It would become America’s Holy City.

Liberals, atheists and socialists have claimed D.C. with very little resistance. Original books of our history, filled with the testimonies of the faith of our founding fathers have been pushed back far in the archives of our libraries. Since the early 1900’s our public school’s history books have been rewritten to dilute the truth, the visions and the dreams of those who proclaimed the saving grace of Jesus Christ while serving our nation. The concept of “separation of church and state” was not even entertained. Our military leaders and presidents boldly called on God for guidance and challenged the citizens of America to do the same.

There are many monuments and landmarks in D.C. that celebrate our nation’s Godly heritage, but today, you will not find these symbols photographed and published in any main stream publications. Why is that? Christianity is the last thing that stands in the way of tyranny. Multiple secular institutions and organizations have banded together to quash Christian influence wherever they can.

I believe, in order to reclaim our nation, we have to start with Washington, D.C. We need to make it a place of prayer and a center of mission activity. D.C. should be the most beautiful and safe city in America. The quality of life should be at its best and every church should be filled to capacity when ever the doors are open.

I would like to see a new trend of Christians making a vacation in D.C. a priority. Christians should make it a prayer pilgrimage and plan on praying for our nation and its leaders at various historic points when they visit. Christians should fill the cafes, streets and plazas daily and pray every step of the journey. Pray for the city, the people and the future of America. And while you are there, attend church and encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Humble prayer is what will turn our country around. Christians must not relegate our homeland to inevitable prophecies. God’s word is true and the “end times” will come in God’s time. But let us not pull down our shades and resort to watching the world go by on a 53″ HDTV. Let us “Occupy until He comes.” There is still great days ahead for our nation, if a people called by a great God will awaken to their potential and unite in prayer.

This morning Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez testified before Chairman Dick Durbin (D-MI) and members of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Human Rights.

On the panel’s agenda was the DOJ’s efforts to protect the rights of Muslim, Arab, Sikh and South-Asian Americans.

“With each new wave of intolerance, our nation has responded – passing new civil rights laws, striking down old laws that sanctioned discrimination, and eventually recognizing the value of diverse communities and embracing those previously shunned,” said Assistant Attorney General Perez.

However, it appears — based on his record at DOJ — that Perez is more interested in protecting Muslims, Asians and other minorities, than he is in helping to create a color-blind society and a fair society. In spite of evidence that revealed Perez advocated a DOJ policy that excluded protecting white American citizens, while protecting suspected terrorists, illegal aliens, and minority-members who commit crimes.

For example, Christopher Coates, former chief of the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division Voting Section, was subpoenaed by the U.S. Civil Rights Commission to testify on the New Black Panther Party litigation in December 2009.

The Mahdi created a massive army of followers who decided on the way to worshiping in Damascus —and while there, occupying Syria — they would overthrow the governments of the Sudan, Egypt and other nations. When the Mahdi wiped out a modern army in the desert and then brutally invaded the Sudanese city of Khartoum, the British found it necessary to send a large force to stop him and his murderous Dervish.

The New York based Islamic Thinkers Society is organizing a huge protest this week in Washington D.C. to support Sharia law in the U.S. and restoration of the Islamic Caliphate. Their web site states: “Our objective is to resume the Islamic way of life to which will fulfill the purpose of the aim. Our objective is to bring back the apparatus that was destroyed in 1924 i.e. Khilafah (Caliphate)”

Most of our political leaders are ignorant of Islam and the problems Muslims face when attempting to practice a cohesive religion. Islam is and always was an ambiguous religion. In order to understand how one group can argue that Islam is a religion of peace while another group commits atrocities in the name of Islam, one must return to the source of this religion which is diametrically opposed to liberal democracy.

The haunting evil of Sharia law that is the cause of such misery for some Muslim countries that follow its strict rules and harsh punishments will soon come to America, according to Move America Forward’s said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the organization.

“That’s what will happen if Anjem Choudary and the Islamic Thinkers Society get their way,” said Gonzalez, whose organization is this nation’s leading pro-military supporter.

The rally’s leaders have invited this man, Anjem Choudary and two other well known radical Islamic figures, to travel from the UK to the United States to attend and speak at the protest planned this week.

An informant working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation was directed to infiltrate a mosque and violated the constitutional rights of the worshiping Muslims by conducting surreptitious “indiscriminate surveillance” because of their religion, according to a joint-lawsuit filed on Tuesday by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, named the FBI and a number of its agents and supervisors, a source told the Law Enforcement Examiner.

The federal lawsuit alleges that FBI informant Craig Monteilh was ordered by his supervisors to target Muslims for surveillance, violating their First Amendment right to freedom of religion. The lawsuit seeks class-action status, unspecified damages and a court order instructing the FBI to destroy or return the information Monteilh collected.

However, several law enforcement officers disagree with the plaintiffs’ allegationa claiming the surveillance did nothing to impede the Muslims’ religious practices.

“Usually these cases are filed regarding the Fourth Amendment and unreasonable search and seizure. In this case the plaintiff is claiming there was a denial of a First Amendment right. It will be interesting to see how federal judges adjudicate this case,” said former police detective and military intelligence officer Mike Snopes.

Monteilh admittedly visited a mosque in Orange County, CA, and helped build a criminal case against an Afghan-born man who was later arrested on terrorism charges.

The lawsuit claims that Monteilh’s contacts, FBI special agents Kevin Armstrong and Paul Allen, directed him in the collection of e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and other information about the Muslims and “explicitly told Monteilh that Islam was a threat to America’s national security,” according to the ACLU’s legal brief.

An FBI public information officer, Laura Eimiller, said when contacted that she not able to comment on the allegations contained in the lawsuit, but she stated that FBI agents do not target organizations or individuals based on religion.

The agency “does not investigate houses of worship or religious groups, but people who are alleged to be involved in criminal activity, regardless of their affiliations,” she told reporters who contacted her office.

“A cold, hard fact is that several terrorist plots have been hatched in Mosques throughout the world. In fact, the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993 emanated from a Mosque in Jersey City,” said political strategist and attorney Mike Baker.

“In this case, the FBI agents were not monitoring the religious service or the religious practices of worshipers. They were monitoring the activities of a suspect on their radar,” added Baker.

People throughout the United States today are mourning the loss of four Americans killed by Somali pirates aboard a sailing vessel in the Indian Ocean this morning. U.S. officials were in the process of negotiating with the pirates for the safe return of the captured Americans when the murders took place, officials said.

U. S. Central Command officials said that in the midst of negotiations, U.S. forces responded to gunfire aboard the S/V Quest. When the forces reached the boat, officials said, they discovered all four hostages had been shot by their captors. Despite immediate steps to provide life-saving care, all four hostages ultimately died of their wounds.

The four retirees had been sailing the waters off the coast of Africa when they were taken hostage by Somali pirates about 200 miles off the coast of Oman.

Following this morning’s U.S. Navy rescue operation four pirates are dead and 15 are in custody in the bloodiest piracy incident in recent history, the commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command told reporters in a press conference call today.

Navy Vice Admiral Mark I. Fox, who also commands the Navy’s 5th Fleet, said the pirates shot Scott and Jean Adams of California and Phyllis Mackay and Bob Riggle of Washington state. The surface vessel Quest was sailing around the world when the Somalis hijacked it off the coast of Oman, according to the American Forces Press Service’s Jim Garamone.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters on Air Force One that President Barack Obama authorized the use of force if there was an imminent threat to the hostages. He said the president was informed of their deaths at 4:42 this morning.

“The radical Islamic government of Iran is reportedly executing prisoners at an alarming rate, according to International Campaign for Human Rights. Iran is suspected of executing one person every eight hours. Since the beginning of 2011, Iran has executed 87 people on various charges.”

While the international news media and government officials are preoccupied with events occurring in Egypt, the Iranian government’s execution of a Dutch-Iranian woman government officials claimed was involved in drug smuggling has created a firestorm in Amsterdam, Holland over the weekend.

Those who knew Miss Bahrami, 46, claim the drug charges were bogus, and police officials in The Netherlands say that she was originally arrested for participating in anti-government protests two years ago when civil unrest in Iran followed accusations of a corrupt presidential election.

After being arrested and processed on charges of sedition, the Iranian government allegedly changed the records to show Bahrami was arrested for cocaine smuggling and possession, a capital offense in that Islamist nation.

Uri Rosenthal, Holland’s foreign minister, blasted government officials in Tehran for not granting the executed woman’s relatives entry into Iran to bury Bahrami. Instead of turning over her remains to her relatives, the Iranian officials secretly took Bahrami’s body more than 200 miles outside of the Iranian capital and held her last rites and burial ceremony without her relatives in attendance.

And since women are a powerful voice in this country, our government falls for the notion that rejecting the demands of feminists somehow conveys scorn and hatred for women and their “needs.” It apparently never occurs to either feminists or elected officials that significantly lower taxes on the average American family would go a whole lot farther in freeing the women of this country from bondage.

Contrary to their claim to speak for all women, feminists sure as heck don’t speak for the strong, self-confident women of Real America. While a significant majority of small town and rural women work outside the home, they don’t work because they’re power-driven career women. First of all, “careers” are few and far between outside of cities; and second, Real America women know what really matters in life… and it’s not their job title and paycheck. When they work, they work to help put food on the table, not bolster their fragile egos or entertain a vendetta against men.

If a Professor of Women’s Studies from Feminist U were to descend on most any town in middle America and begin to preach the gospel according to feminism, most women (and men) would look at her with polite bewilderment bordering on wonder (wondering whether she’s a lunatic, that is).

Feminists are convinced that working eight or nine hours a day for strangers is somehow more noble and worthy than working eight or nine hours a day for your family. Is a career teaching kindergarten somehow more dignified and less stultifying than teaching one’s own children? Feminists think so.

Suzanne Venker in her excellent book “The Seven Myths of Working Mothers” writes, “But feminist groups are not as influential as they might hope, at least not in their own right. They have a considerable amount of help from their friends in the media. This is the group with the real power. While journalists cannot say outright – as their gender feminist friends can – that mothers should work outside the home, they still manage to convey the message that no woman in her right mind would choose full-time motherhood as a profession.”

Yes, women have been freed up from the drudgery of housework by forcing legal and social changes encouraging women to leave home and work. But wait, there’s more! Housework still needs to be done. Toilets need cleaning. Dishes need washing. Laundry needs doing. So what’s a feminist to do?

She hires someone – a woman – to do these things for her while she, the enlightened feminist, retreats to her legal briefs or stethoscopes and congratulate herself on her advancement. She leaves the poor drudging housekeeper the keys and tells her to do all the dirty work in her life. She leaves the bewildered kids at the poor drudging daycare workers’ establishment and tells her to do all the mothering for her. Women are still doing women’s jobs. But feminists have freed themselves only by (cough) oppressing their drudging sisters. But it’s okay, you see, because the drudging daycare workers and house cleaners get paid for it. So all is right in this twisted world where paychecks supersede all moral responsibilities and obligations to home and family.

What hard-core feminists who happily and voluntarily place their children in daycare won’t admit is most of them can’t handle the job of motherhood. Personally I don’t find this an admirable trait.

So what am I suggesting? That feminism be banished or something?

No of course not. Can’t be done. Pandora’s box has been opened and it’s impossible to close it. There will always be a vocal segment of women who simply have no interest in domesticity and hates anyone who does.

But just as the last thing to emerge from Pandora’s box was the fluttering, ethereal, wispy ghost of Hope, so I find hope among the rural and small town women of America, as well as their stay-at-home urban sisters. These are the women carrying on the torches of family strength and true femininity, who are not threatened by the thought of using their innate strength and power to cultivate future generations rather than reduce themselves to mere workhorse drones whose only worth is calculated by the decimal points on a paycheck.

And I’ll remind the feminists that abolishing a nuclear family unit that has served western civilization with great effectiveness for thousands of years in favor of a feminist viewpoint that’s been around for four decades is a dumb idea.

But hey, it’s just my opinion.

King also stated that he plans to hold hearings on the attack at the military base at Fort Hood carried out by an Islamic member of the U.S. Army who murdered 13 victims.

King has come underfire from progressives and groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) when he stated that there are plans to hold hearings on Islam, in an effort to “identify and combat domestic radicalization.”

“Unfortunately, the leadership in the Muslim community, for whatever reason, does not want to cooperate, does not want to, even in many cases, denounce, the terrible attacks that have taken place,” King told WPIX-TV in New York.

Justice Department officials on Monday filed a lawsuit against Berkeley School District, Berkeley, Illinois, alleging that the school district violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by failing to reasonably accommodate the religious practices of Safoorah Khan, a Muslim teacher at McArthur Middle School. The government’s complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago, alleges that Ms. Khan requested an unpaid leave of absence in December 2008 to perform Hajj, a pilgrimage required by her religion. According to the complaint, Berkeley School District denied Ms. Khan’s request because the purpose of her leave was not related to her professional duties nor was it leave for any of the specific purposes set forth in the Professional Negotiations Agreement between the district and the teachers’ union.

The Justice Department also alleges that, because Berkeley School District denied her a religious accommodation, the district compelled Ms. Khan to choose between her job and her religious beliefs, and thus forced her discharge.

I recently came across this article and decided to re-post it. I believe that it is timely and helpful in today’s upsidedown world.

Glenn.

There’s No Complaining in Faith

Recently I delivered a message that I titled “Now What?”. I was asked to speak at a Christian businessmen’s breakfast and I wanted to give a talk on the value of supporting the local economy. As I was preparing for this, I felt God lead me another way. Many of the men who attend this meeting are currently experiencing difficulties in their businesses so giving them a speech on something so vague seemed a little shallow. Since my goal was to try to bring some realm of encouragement, I started to look to the Bible for a different direction.

James 3:2-12 gives a insightful description of the power of the tongue, vs 6: “the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell”. This led me to a study of the negative aspects of complaining. Today complaining has almost become a sport. Everywhere you turn someone has an opinion about how bad things are yet they seldom have a solution to offer. The general media makes a living continuously rolling out a steady stream of bad news. Where is the hope? Will we find it with our politicians? How about our families? Myself, I have chosen to follow the promises of God as found in the Bible.

First of all, God doesn’t like complaining. Numbers 11:1 records this: “Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD; for the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the LORD burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp”. God, in this passage, displayed a very bad attitude toward the complainers. In chapter 13 we see the account of the twelve spies sent to look at the promised land and report back to Moses what they found. Ten of the spies had a bad report, even though they saw a great bounty for the taking. They were to concerned about how difficult it might be to take the land, even though God had promised it to them. Two of the spies had a different report. They were convinced that God was well able to do what they were promised He would do. These two displayed a tremendous faith in God while the other ten showed a serious lack of faith. As a result of the majority report, the people rejected the good report and started to complain bitterly to Moses. This brought a decidedly negative response from God. The Israelites, who had journeyed a mere 2-3 weeks to get to where they were, now would be told that their trip was being extended by 40 more years. Imagine for a moment being within sight of your destination, the very land promised to you by God, and then being told you can’t go in because of your complaining. This is exactly what happened. I find it also to be ironic that the chapter numbers here are 11 and 13 since the resulting actions literally bankrupted the future of that generation of people.

As Christians, we are faced daily with choices of which report to adhere to. Do we trust the news media and its pundants and experts, or do we trust God? When we engage in a complaining mode, we are moving into the realm of the negative world report. As we do this, we are displaying a serious lack of faith in God’s promise to us. We are setting ourselves up to fail. I am convinced that what is needed today is to speak words of faith and encouragement to the people around us. In my business travels, I am seeing a pattern develop. The people who are speaking of hope and possibility are showing growth and success while the ones going negative are showing signs of weakness and failure. We must not fall into the world’s trap. In order to work faith in an uncertain time, we must first speak faith. Remember the power of the tongue.

Jesus call on us to be overcomers in this age. Only by faith can we accomplish this. In order to truly have that God pleasing faith, we must not be complainers.

God Bless, Glenn Smith Jr, author of The Key of Forgiveness

Universal Religion Claims Everything
Quotes Assembled by Erica Carle

UNIVERSAL RELIGION

We have founded the new Science of Sociology, and as a deduction from Sociology, the Universal Religion. Comte, Auguste; System of Positive Polity, {SPP} Vol. II: Burt Franklin, N.Y.; Originally published in London, 1875. P344

SOCIOLOGY WILL TEACH MORALITY & DIRECT SOCIETY

The final blow was inevitably given to Theology . . . when the establishment of my system of Sociology cut from under it its old title to teach Morality and direct Society. (SPP)Vol. II, P. 299

SERVANTS OF GOD EXCLUDED

In the name of the past and of the future, the servants of humanity — both it’s philosophical and its practical servants come forward to claim as their due the general direction of this world. Their object is to constitute at length a real providence in all departments, –moral, intellectual, and material. Consequently they exclude once for all from political supremacy all the different servants of God — Catholic, Protestant, or Deist — as being at once behindhand, and a cause of disturbance. Werner Encyclopedia, Fourteenth Edition, “Auguste Comte,” Volume 6, Page 191.

NEW SPIRITUAL POWER

It is the primary condition of social reorganization to put an end to the state of utter revolt which the Intellect maintains against the Heart. . . Positivism has at last overcome the immense difficulties of this task. . . every part of our nature is brought under the regenerating influence of the worship of Humanity. Thus a new spiritual power will arise. . . better calculated than Catholicism to engage the support of women which is so necessary to its efficient action on society. Comte; SPP; Vol. 1, P. 285–287

HIGH PRIEST OF HUMANITY

The whole spiritual hierarchy is immediately and unintermittingly under the influence of the High Priest of Humanity; he names, transfers, suspends, and even discards, on his sole responsibility, any of its members. Normally the residence of the pontiff must be Paris, as the metropolis of the West, but never with any share in the government of the holy city. . .
The vastness of his office makes it necessary for the Pontiff of the West to call habitually to his aid seven national superiors. . .
But the number will naturally be increased in proportion as the Positive religion advances towards its normal state of universality. This eminent branch of the priesthood will, then, furnish forty-nine members when mankind is completely regenerated. Comte, SPP, Vol. IV, P. 224

COMMUNISM LEADS TO POSITIVISM

So far, therefore, the fundamental principle of Communism is one which the Positivist school must obviously adopt. Positivism not only confirms this principle, but widens its scope, by showing its application to other departments of human life; by insisting that, not wealth only, but that all our powers shall be devoted in the true republican spirit to the continuous service of the community. The long period of revolution which has elapsed since the Middle Ages has encouraged individualism in the moral world, as in the intellectual it has fostered the specialising tendency. But both are equally inconsistent with the final order of modern society. Comte, SPP, Vol. I, P. 124

Communists are, without knowing it, preparing the way for the ascendancy of Positivism. Comte, SPP, Vol. I, P. 130

ENVIRONMENT CONTROLS MANKIND

In order then to regulate or to combine mankind, Religion must in the first instance place man under the influence of some external Power, possessed of superiority so irresistible as to leave no sort of uncertainty about it. This great principle of social science is at bottom merely the full development of that primary notion of sound Biology–the necessary subordination of every Organism to the Environment in which it is placed. . .
A sound theory of Biology thus furnishes the Positive theory of Religion with a foundation wholly unassailable; for it proves the general necessity for the constant supremacy of an external Power as a condition of unity for man, even in his individual life. Comte, SPP Vol. II, P. 12

EARTH OWNED BY THE GREAT BEING

The Great Being in its full prime, will take possession of its domain, the Earth, marking its proprietorship by effecting all the improvements compatible with the order of the whole, in accordance with the principle that particular action must in all cases be subordinate to the general unity. Comte, SPP, Vol. IV, P. 54

TOTAL SYSTEMATIZATION

In the final state the complete systematisation of all the powers of man already developed is the chief object of all forethought, whether speculative or practical. Comte, SPP, Vol. II, P. 148

EXISTING SYSTEMS MUST BE DESTROYED

Whatever is now systematized must be destroyed: and whatever is not systematized and therefore has vitality, must occasion collisions which we are not yet able accurately to foresee or adequately restrain. This will be the test of the positive philosophy, and at the same time the stimulus to its social ascendancy. Positive Philosophy of Auguste Comte, Vol. 6 P. 411,412.

CENTRAL POWER

Positivists have little hesitation in siding in almost all cases with the central as against the local power. Comte, SPP, Vol. I, P. 98

ELEMENTS OF COLLECTIVE FORCE

We must properly distinguish three social powers, respectively based on the three necessary elements of collective force, in spontaneous relation with the three essential sides of our cerebral nature. Of these three, the Material is vested in the great and wealthy, the Intellectual in the wise and in priests, the Moral in women; the three representing a basis of Force, Reason, and Affection. Comte, SPP, Vol. II, P. 255

UNITY IS PROGRESS

The general results of the last volume may be thus summed up; — the normal type of Human Existence is one of complete unity. All progress therefore, whether of the individual or of the race, consists in developing and consolidating that unity. Comte, SPP, Vol. III. P. 8

HIGH PRIEST OF HUMANITY

Thus, the sixty republics of the regenerated West will have no other habitual bond than a common education, community of manners and customs, and common festivals. In a word, their union will be religious and not political; allowing for the historical relations resulting from previous aggregations, and soon to disappear in the new connection, unless when they rest on community of language. The High Priest of Humanity will be, more truly than any medieval pope, the only really Western Chief. Comte, Auguste; The Catechism of Positive Religion; Translated by Richard Congreve, Third Edition1891; Augustus M. Kelley Publishers, Clifton, 1973, P. 248

SUPPORTERS OF UNIVERSAL RELIGIION

In the 1920’s and 1930’s, fertile years in the development of American social sciences, most–perhaps all–of the direct funding for social science research came from private foundations…
It was the foundations that gave the grants for individual scholars and sponsored and funded such critical research centers as the Brookings Institution, the Institute for Governmental Research, the National Bureau of Economic Research, the Social Science Research Council, and the Stanford Food Research Institute.
During these decades, the Rockefeller Foundation and its partner, the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Memorial, invested about $100 million in the social sciences…
There were in this prewar era other foundations helping the social sciences: the General Education Board, the Rosenwald Fund, and–most notably–the Carnegie Corporation…
After World War II, foundation spending on social research grew steadily until the late 1960’s; but in the same period the government’s spending on research grew much faster, from $30 million in 1956 to $100 million by the mid-1960’s to $524 million in 1980. “Social Science Research: Shifting Infatuation with A Critical Resource” by Marshall Robinson, FOUNDATION NEWS, Sept./Oct., 1983. P. 58.

“My Take” – for Thursday, June 3, 2010:
The religion of deceit.
These are dangerous times for believers because Christianity is under attack like never
before.
Nancy Pelosi says her political agenda is motivated and fashioned from making the words of
Christ flesh.
Mr. Biden has gone to Catholic churches and instructed them to promote amnesty for illegal
aliens as a means of making the words of Christ real.
Mr. Obama says that Christ has endorsed homosexual marriage during the Sermon on the
Mount.
These are the ramblings of the religious deficient.
We are in the incredible position of secular authority figures presenting themselves as
stewards of the Gospel in an effort to further a political ideology rather than a belief in Christ.
Their desire is to deceive and they know exactly what they’re doing.
We better as well.
I’m Jim Sumpter and that’s “My Take”.

The first of those was obviously not a big deal, it’s always out there, but the high number of tiny children getting sick concerned me and the last two… oh my gosh!!!

Oh did I mention that the current series that our Pastor is teaching is called “Supernatural” talking about living a life in the Lord, not in the natural; the message this last Sunday was on healing.

As I said, this series of events led me to start thinking, what is it I trust God for? I have had faith in Him for some pretty big things in my life, from finances to healings (including a whiplash.)

But really how much do I live a life in Him? Do I trust God only in the ‘big’ things that I think might be ‘important’ or cause me to fret? Or do I trust Him to heal a cold as fast as a whiplash.

Do I only think about Him as my provider when the stress of the bills has me freaking out, or do I trust Him in the day-to-day dealings of my finances so that I don’t have to freak out.

I realize that weeks like this can do one of two things, they can either shake my faith with the ‘why, why, why’ questions, or they can solidify my ability to release ALL things to the Lord. If I can trust Him with my eternal salvation then why do I trip up on the ability to to do this daily.

Fortunately, I also know that God understands my shortcomings and He will help me to trust Him more as I continue to grow in Him. The Bible says we are to take up our cross daily, this is a Christian walk… not a dash or sprint. It begins when we first say, “Yes” to the call to salvation and ends the day we go home to be with the Lord.

How we choose to take that walk is up to us, we can choose the hard path with all the boulders and slippery slopes that trip and injure us; Or we can choose to put our trust in the One who created us, and then just deal with the bumps that come along, resting in His arms to steady us.

Thank you Lord for all things, and forgive my unbelief when it hits, and give me a heart to continually hunger after You.
